Hi.. Im getting a little frustrated and running out of time so wondered if anyomne could help me...

I would like to go for a night or 2 to a site this weekend but would like to go near a beach so my better half can go sea fishing :) and preferebly with a pub nearby (thats for him too lol!!) or club onsite..

only thing is I dont want to travel too far..

so wondered if anyone knew anyhere coatal with a pub near Scarborouigh Area or North Wales area... im from Leeds so can go in either direction.. would look to travel about 2 hours max...

also leaving the caravan at home and taking a tent..

hhmmm Cayton Bay or the Cayton Village caravan site.

Just outside scarborough.

The Haven Cayton Bay is closer to the sea and will have a club house.

Cayton Village site is a little way from the sea and a short walk to a couple of pubs.

A few weeks ago we were at Seaside which has onsite beach with sea fishing but alas no pub without a 10 min walk (apparently) to Skipsea.

Campsite beach

Plenty of nice pubs at Flamborough near Brid plus the North Landing has a nice pub 'Caravel'with a mean Black Sheep and Bombadier pint.

BUT the majority of the fishing i see done here is either by kayak, cliff fishing or on the cobble trips.

Campsites nearby are Thorwick campsite and one i think called 'the Grange'

Howdie....
we went to Filey Country Park.. and have to say we were pretty impressed...we were on the tent field as we went right back to basics.. no hook up.. just a couple of tents 4 12/13 year old girls..and a 10 yr old boy... we had a gas stove cool bag and duvets lol!!

was brill and pretty impressed with the site.. great toilet/shower facilities.. park closeby.. cafe and shop.. also 2-5 min walk to the beach and seafront.. very level too.. all for £11 for the night... you pay for the pitch not per person on top of your pitch...
OH went fishing twice and we had a great BBQ... was a good night thanks peeps!! :)
