if anybody can reccomend a campsite that meets our needs it would be appreciated

Hi all,   i know this site has a campsite search, but i would rather get some feedback from people who have been recently/had same experience

we are 2 families with 2 children each, aged 1,2,3,and 5 (jesus)

we will both have 8 men tents  7.4mt x 2.8 (plus guy ropes)

1 electric hook up would be nice but not essential

we are looking for a warm and inviting campsite to introduce our friends to camping, we dont want any swimming pools/games rooms etc,  a shop and/or kids plat area would be nice but not essential.

however a toilet block of a reasonable standard is essential, as crappy/dirty showers are our friends biggest fear, and i dont want to scare them straight away :)

we are looking to spend most of our time walking and visiting local villages

we have no intention of partying all night, we just get the kids in bed asap, then just relax outside and polish off a cople of bottles of red.

any help would be apprecited

thanks

jason

Beddgelert Forestry commission site is lovely. Nice little playground for the children. Small shop with pizza ordering service. Lovely walks in the forest. Steam railway passing by. The children will love that. Only a few miles from Porthmadog etc. Loads to do.

Rynys Farm Betws-y-Coed is lovely. One of our favourites. Beautiful views. Carol the owner is one of the most friendliest people you will meet and is always cleaning. Plenty to see and do in the area. No play area but very safe for small children to play. Prices are very reasonable too. We stay here a couple of times a year.

>>looking for a warm

In terms of friendly and inviting? I hope so, because getting warm weather in snowdonia is a bit hit and miss. (more miss actually)

You're more likely to get dry weather if you head west of snowdonia, towards the Llŷn peninsula.

I second the Beddgelert site and as for the showers i can only speak on what we found last year when we stayed. They were plenty of them, always warm/hot and cleaned very regulary. The forest walks were lovely especially the one that led you to the lake. The Steam train was a fun thing too, passed right through the campsite. We enjoyed the *toot-hoot* when it was getting closer. Black-rock sands beach was amazing, great for kids and adults alike and agin not too far away. Caenarvon close too.

Beddgelert itself is a very pretty village with a couple of pubs, Gelerts grave and the most amazing Ice-cream palour that was a big hit for us Adults as it was for the children.

Have a wonderful time
