Can anyone recommend a campsite in the New Forest of 'cool campsite' style?

Smallish (under 100 pitches)

Excellent showers and washing up facilities

Natural entertainment only - Woodland walks and not swimming pools and bars (a little play area is ok)

Peace and quiet at night (No radios etc allowed)

No commercial vehicles

Choose your own spot (so not regimented rows)

Price not important nor is EHU

Caravans and Tents accepted.

A long and particular list I know but I think it would all add up to the perfect campsite (for my family anyway!!).

When I was looking for this type of site, I couldn't find any in the New Forest - New Forest sites are all CCC Forest sites. However if you search the area to the east of the M3, there seem to be several in that area I'd like to try one day!
Try Mellow Farm, Hook Farm, Fair Oaks Farm - all around the Horsham area, just for starters!

Hi. Just had a wee look in my 'cool camping' book. I have never been to this site before but Roundhill Campsite looks lovely. Lots and lots of wildlife to see. It is run by the forestry commission. We have stayed on many of their sites before and loved them.

Roundhills is probably everything but "small" in terms of 100 pitches. It's quite a large site but obviously people can then get the space they want. The toilets and showers are fine for where it is, if you want natural then they don't allow proper buildings. Other sites with more modern facilities obviously then fail the natural test as they often then shoe-horn in the other facilities.

Inside Park maybe but not New Forest
