Hi Guys. Could anyone recommend a good campsite to use for climbing snowdonia. Looking for a site close to a local village for pubs and local store. We would also like to find a site which will permit a camp fire. First time camping in Wales so any advice is most welcome. Many thanks.

I would recomend Cae Du in Bedgellert. A nice friendly site and not too far from the start of the Watkin Path or catch the Welsh Highland Railway towards Canaervon and there is another path near one of the stations

We stayed an nantcol waterfalls too when we climbed Snowdon, wasn't too far too travel. A lovely campsite with some gorgeous walks from the site and spectacular views, and they allow campfires. Wish we didn't live so far away because we really loved our week here
