We are venturing out camping again this year but with the addition of our 2 new doggies.
Am looking for recommendations for a dog friendly campsite in the North East of England or North Wales/Anglesey area.
Ive done the campsite search above and tbh there are very few reviews with much detail on about how dog friendly the sites are so am resorting to proper word of mouth.
Also I have the ground spike and long leads and will take a parasol for shade - is there anything else you would recommend we should take to make the experience more enjoyable for them and us.
All Camping and Caravanning Club's club sites are dog friendly, in that they have dog walk facility on site.
It is important to remember that "dog friendly" does not mean allowing the dogs to roam free, as all the sites I have been too, club sites or otherwise, require the dogs to be on the lead at all times, except, perhaps, when they are confined within the tents/caravan/whatever.
I would advise using the "dog allow" search function and read up on the feedbacks to see if the sites take your fancy to narrow down your choices, then request for site-specific information in the UK Campsite section.
Good luck with your search.

If you are looking at site near the coast, check whether the nearby beaches are dog friendly too. We have camped with up to 3 dogs at once and had no problems on site at all but some beaches don't allow dogs for part of the yr.
We tend to go to the more remote beaches as our retriever used to love to swim in the sea (all day if we had let her)
We also try to find one pub locally that will take dogs in gardens at least, so that we can eat out once during our holiday.
Good luck with your search and enjoy

+ 1 for Manorafon at Abergele - it's actually a few miles from Rhyl. A lovely site with decent facilities and good traffic-free dog walking right from the site entrance. It's one of my favourite places.
