We are a group of friends whose children all go to the same school. We do an annual camping trip en masse with the kids aged approx 5-11. The site we normally stay at isn't available so we were wondering if anyone knew of great campsites that take large groups of families within a couple of hours of the south west of england (Devon, Gloucestershire, South Wales, Somerset etc)?

You don't say how large a group you are but depending on how busy they are Bridge House Campsite at Lechlade on Thames in Gloucestershire may be able to accommodate you.
I was once there when several families were there with kids and grandparents playing cricket in the middle of the field and they were once happy to accept a 'meet' that I was trying to arrange.
