Does anyone know whether the campsite at St Nicholas at Wade in Kent (near Birchington) is still open for business? We loved this campsite, you just turned up without booking, pitched the tent and the owner, Basil came round once a day to collect fees. I get no reply from the telephone number listed..........we camped there last August.......anyone got any updates to share?

Yes it - I have phoned and get a message telling me this phone number is protected by BT Guardian and if I wait for the tone and say my name I will be connected, the phone then rings and rings and a voice says 'Please hang up' BIt of a mystery
Ok mystery solved - my husband had the bright idea of phoning the local post office/village shop! They are indeed still trading but currently away on holiday and someone else is looking after the site. We are happy!

I have a BT Guardian phone and this happens if the answerphone is full.
