I've read through a fair bit of the reviews but can't see an answer to my question. Up till now I've just been a tenter, but the last couple of years of mostly camping in Scotland and the awful weather I've been toying with the idea of tent with electric hookup for simple heating solution (I've a newbie question on that and will post more generally). I do find the descriptions a bit opaque, but Premium waterfront with electric here seems to be ideal

anyone camped here and can give a review.
I'll definitely give them a ring to clarify a few points, but a review would be grand.
Thanks

We stayed there year before last. The premium pitches on the waters edge have electric. But if you are booking for a tent then you are going to be pitching on the hardstanding (gravel area) as pitching on the grass would mean you would be within a couple of feet of the unit beside you, which they wont allow for fire and comfort reasons.

When we stayed tents were all pitched near the entrance which is well away from waters edge and cant remember any electric in those areas.

Its under new ownership so worth checking in direct with them but cant recall where or how a tent could pitch with electric unless its on a gravel pitch.

blueexpo and Dot P thanks for that info. Yes, the non-electric grass tent pitches are away from the lochside. Dot P yes there's a bit of a confused wording which indicates specific lochside pitches with electric tents must be pitched on hardstanding. Assuming that means there are others that do not require a hardstanding pitch (don't fancy that). And yes they're under new management so will call and double check to see the lie of the land, tried earlier without success. I had been told that there are a number of premium lochside pitches for tents with electric and grass pitching. Only way to clarify is calling them, but thanks for info. I'll report back if I get anything useful, as could be helpful to others.

n.b. as noted in my OP I'd looked through the reviews and there wasn't an answer to my quite specific question, but thanks ...

Morland moresotes seem to be trying to push tent campers out if they want electric hook up, one site explained that tent campers use their heating more so it uses more electricity this is not good for me as my campmaster trailer tent pitches like a tent but I need to run a fridge to keep some medication cool .

I don’t understand the relevance of “Morland moresotes” (who they?) to Cashel? Cashel used to be owned & run by Forest Enterprise Scotland years ago when we were last there, now owned by “Let The Wood Times Roll Limited” since late 2022. You can’t read across from one owner to another wrt policy re tents or TTs & EHUs.

Think it's just autocorrect of " more and more sites"

Having checked with the site, all the lochside pitches with ehu are hardstanding and if you wish to tent there you must pitch on hardstanding/gravel. Not for me, but may help others who may be interested.

Millarochy is a CCC loch-side site near to Cashel. Reviews on here, but our own experience of tenting there was long ago & wasn’t with EHU. I do remember the midges were brutal, but they’ve not particularly been a problem this year.
