I have an image of camping a nice sunny glade with our 3 kids, collecting wood, building a fire with them and slowly cooking some nice food before sitting round a fire playing games at night. Can anyone recommend a site in the south that fits the bill? Or even static huts with their own bathroom in the woods with a mini kitchen would be nice if anyone knows any that can take 5.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
You don't give your location so any recommendations might be impractical.
I can only say that in this area, N Aberdeenshire, there are 'Glamping' sites with unique accommodation like a boat's cabin.
I think a BBQ or fire pit may come with them.

I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.
Sounds like Welsummer Camping might be the kind of thing, near Harrietsham in Kent. No recent reviews, but I doubt it’s changed much. Our dog got a shock there, peeing on an electric fence that was protecting their chickens!

Welcome to UKCS.
I suggest using the site search & ticking on Glamping, centring the map on where you fancy going. There are many sites with countless varieties of pods / huts / yurts etc, with prices reflecting how sophisticated they are: the main point being whether they have a toilet / shower you want (or you have to use the site facilities). They don’t all have fire pits and those that do will not allow you to collect local dead wood (that’s based on my experience). They’ll supply / sell you kiln dried wood and / or you can buy it at supermarkets and yes, bring the marshmallows!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
