Hi,
Having camped/caravanned in Europe many times we're looking to stay in the UK this year.

We like the relaxed approach to camping / caravanning in Europe and we're not very keen on UK sites that want you put your caravan in a neat line with other caravans like in a car park!

Can anyone recommend any UK sites that simply allow you to put your caravan how you want it on your pitch?
We're a couple with a well behaved dog and we are quite happy with smaller caravan sites. Separated pitches on grass, and trees, would be good. We like to relax and read books part of the time.

We haven't planned where to head to yet so all suggestions are welcome.
Especially if you know somewhere where it's often warm.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

Last year we stayed on Haw Wood Farm in Suffolk. https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=1941 The site is divided in half with one side hardstanding in a regimented row and the other side, much more reminiscent of French Sites with huge grass pitches. There are no hedges between the grass pitches but the owner leaves the border between pitches uncut so although the pitches themselves are nicely mown, you can clearly see the border, as in summer the uncut strip was about half a metre high. We have been to France on numerous occasions and this is probably the UK site that reminds us most of France (from the ones we have stayed on).

We’re off to here in a few weeks, only found out about it by chance last year. Not too far from home for us. Good bakery at the end of the road!

We like "random pitches" too rather than regimented ones with caravans all in neat rows, which is one reason why we avoid hardstandings when we can. No way would we pay extra for hardstanding, I'd want a discount!

One of our favourite larger sites that has random pitches is Sandringham C&CC site.

Best Regards,
Colin

The bakery was amazing! They had a tiramisu cake last summer that I must have eaten about 10 pieces of during our stay!
