Wish me luck, and any opinions of places to see on our trip please let me know!!
Thanks to everyone for helping with site suggestions!
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
have you booked these sites ? I live about 3 mile from Drum Mohr and I thought it was shut in winter, and a look at their web site comfirms this, best to sort all these things before you travel........PS I do hope IM wrong.
Wow that place by Loch Lomond looks fab. I would love to go there in the summer. I hope you have the best time. Always wanted to go to Edinburgh for the New Year. Will one day.
we have actually booked for a site called thurston manor at dunbar, they are open new year and xmas. monks muir no longer take caravans as they only have holiday homes. this is where we are staying.
and you had better check Drum mohr as they are closed from the end of october and dont open again till the march. peewee you are quite welcome to join us on thurston manor (Providing they have some spaces left.
Just called Drum Mohr, they are defo open!! She said they dont advertise for hogmany, and the park is officially closed, However they do open for xmas and new year, the only difference is the shop is shut, but everything else is open like the showers etc!
Thanks for the offer Rattyhorses, but I really fancy the site at drum mohr plus thurston manor does not take dogs :(, maybe we can meet up for a drink anyway though!!!

We are going to "asses" the site, as we need somewhere in Summer we can take the speed boat to! It looks great from the site, and I am hoping it will be ideal to leave the boat there in summer!
Im glad that one is sorted out PeeWee its a long way to go for a shut site and I would have bet money it was shut all winter, by the way you will find it is a realy nice site.

Hi peewee
Thurston don't allow dogs in their statics. Tourers are allowed pets. We took our two dogs with us when we visited last year. It is a great site with loads of things to do and see. Great beaches for the dogs to run about on and some good walks.
We hope you enjoy your holiday wherever you choose to go. But do visit Scotland in the summer , especially the Loch Lomond area and over to the west coast (Oban) there are many great sites there. Good Luck
