Im stuck for ideas this year - We (husband and I) love camping and like quiet campsites in beautiful locations. We want to try somewhere new this year - planning to go away mid August. Woodland locations are great and somewhere with lots of walks and towns/cities to visit nearby - and a pub on site is a must (other halfs request) I know it is a lot to ask for but any suggestions? - please!

Try this one, http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=1192, haven't stayed personally but it's in the New Forest next door to a pub with the New Forest on your doorstep, not far from the coast and Bournemouth, Southampton, Salisbury etc to visit.

As Angie has said above, The Red Shoot at Linwood in The New Forest has a site next to it. Personally not camped there but used to go to the pub occasionally. Loads of walks in the forest if you havnt been before, plenty of places to visit.  You could also come down to my neck of the woods, Mudeford / Christchurch which i'm sure you will love.

I know it's not woodland but the Old Oaks at Glastonbury is a wonderful site, there isn't actually a pub on site, but there are plenty of great ones in Glastonbury itself. Very quite, peaceful site, 5* facilities and plenty of walks and places to visit.

Tru up this end in the Lake district you will find it ticks all your boxes.  I know it is a drive though, but worth it.

I've never been myself, but my father has, and I believe The Croft at Hawkshead in the lake district is fab. Not woodland, but it's right next to a great pub with great food and local beers and there are masses on walks and other stuff to do, right on your doorstep.
