Hello,
Im looking for a campsite in Scotland that is near a railway station. I will eventually be heading up to Orkney on the trip so somewhere on that train line would be good.
Has anyone got any suggestions?
Thank you!

The Camping & Caravan site at Dingwall, north of Inverness is right next to the railway station on the line to Wick or Kyle of Lochalsh.
Good well maintained toilets & showers

Dingwall is good.I was there for nearly a week a short time ago.
When you get to Thurso you could consider http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=3293
Handy for your trip to Orkney( where I live!)

Not sure which line it is on, but Bunroy at Roy Bridge in the Highlands is right next to a railway station. Really enjoyed our stay there this time last year.

Don't know where you plan to go on your Scotland trip but Blair Castle is a great site and is within five minutes walk of Blair Atholl station.Glen Nevis site is great and not too far from Fort William station,on the East Coast Tantallon campsite in North Berwick has one of the best positions in the country and often sunny when it's raining elsewhere.
Have Fun Irene

Hi, I would second the recommendation about Glen Nevis site. you can sit from your tent or caravan and watch the walkers going up and down the mighty mountain. the site is lovely and immaculately kept, the views and walks are great and Fort William is a nice wee town with plenty of nice pubs and restaurants. Plus you can drive to Glencoe (about 15 miles) and bask in the scenery there!
