hi, im new to this site, and ive registered here to see if anyone can give me any advice,

im a 22 yr old lass from county durham and me and a few of my friends are wanting to go away for a weekends camping, the only problem is that were looking for somewhere thats not family orientated.

just somewhere simple, toilets and a tap, or maybe even just a tap, .. if that..
someone suggested we go camp out on the beach, but i dont know if its legal just to camp anywhere along the coast. does anyone else know ??

and does anyone know anywhere around the durham/ yorkshire area which is a suitable campsite for us?

A GOOD BET WOULD BE TO DRIVE ALONG THE A171 MOORS ROAD OUT OF TEESSIDE TOWARDS WHITBY- THERE ARE LOADS OF SIGNS POINTING OFF THE MAIN ROAD FOR BASIC CAMP SITES- MUST BE 5 OR 6 BETWEEN GUISBOROUGH AND WHITBY.

FAILING ANY OF THOSE BEING ANY GOOD YOU WOULD BE SURROUNDED BY THE NY MOORS AND YOU CANT GET MUCH MORE BASIC THAN THAT!!!!

btw you can camp on the beach its not illegal because nobody has title to it, but check the high water mark. Ive camped on cayton and runswick bay a couple of times.

If you are all over 18 you could try the search facility on here to find adult only sites, which are very obviously NOT for families - however these tend (in my experience) to be populated by people our age (40s) and older, which may be a bit quiet & boring for you? It depends whether you want to be with folks more your own ages.

Also, Bay Ness farm at Robin Hoods bay gets very good write ups as a remote, simple site check it here. Similarly Hooks House Farm i nthe same area here
