There is one at Crystal Palace - Regular trains to Victoria and then jump on the tube to Westminster ! Its the most central one I can think of.
There is one to the west of London too - can't remember the name, but im sure someone here can help with that one.

So is the tent city on Hackney Marshes - I used to go past it occasionally when I lived nearby. The site was OK next to the river, using football changing rooms as showers and toilets, but its quite a rough area.
There also used to be one near Stratford, near the cycling centre on Hackney Marshes, don't know what happened to that.

I think you get the bus in from Crystal Palace but Abbey Wood has a train station very close by about 10 minutes walk at the most. The facilities are the usual CC standards but one thing we did like is that when the toilet blocks are closed for cleaning (always when you are getting ready to leave) they have a couple of single toilets that are open for use. The floors in the blocks have under floor heating and as we usually go in December it is lovely when getting changed for the shower. It is a pretty reasonable cost for staying in London and if you get a train ticker some of the attractions offer "2 for 1" on entry. It is fairly easy to get to by road too.
If you want any more information on Abbey Wood just ask.

Crystal Palace is next to Crystal Palace train station - you just need to trot down Crystal Palace Parade. No need for buses or Brixton !
Not sure where Abbey Wood trains go to - probably London Bridge!
