Can anyone recommend a campsite on the Dorset coast? somewhere that accepts large tents, and is suitable for young children (5 & 2)?

I agree with Mick and tina.  Highlands end is one of the best sites we have visited. I don't think you would be disappointed.

I would recommend Sandford Park.  Been seasonal there for many years.  Campsite being extended with excellent facilities.  Very busy in high season but still brilliant fun.  Excellent for kids with plenty for them to do whatever their age.

Beware of the possibility of very strong winds at Highlands End though. There's been a fair few tents wrecked up there.

Osmington Mills near Weymouth looks ok. All the facilities such as pub, pooletc are on the static park while the campers have a huge field within a couple of min walk over the lane.We went in a static last year but might go with the tent in summer

Osmington Mills was nice in a tent!!! Spent the frst week of the summer hols there and kids, 13,10,10 &7 loved it and can't wait to go back

Theres Westfleet farm near Weymouth. Pool for the kids. Evening entertainment in the barn at night and breakfast in the barn in the morning.We haven't beenfor a few years and the only downside then was the toilets/showers, which weren't up to much. That may have changed, i don't know. The good thing was you could pitch your tent and take up as much space as you needed
