Anyway, I need some advice. My little sister and I are going camping in Cornwall this summer - ALONE. It'll be my first time camping for about 5 years and she hasn't been for a while either.
We're looking for campsites that are near-ish to St Austell or Bodmin (we haven't decided yet, two girls can't make their minds up that easily!) and we have a few basic requirements.
We need somewhere that's not too 'rural' - our car is not the best! We need somewhere with good shower and bathroom facilities. We need somewhere that's not too expensive. And most importantly we need somewhere where two lone girlies won't feel too scared - sis is only 18, I'm 25 so we're not THAT old.
Any recommendations? Thanks guys!

Welcome to the site, try the campsite search facility at the top of the page, put in the town or county and you will find lots of sites also you can read reviews from fellow campers.Good luck
Any suggestions then, because all the sites I've seen are really family-orientated. That's fine, because it would be relatively safe but I reckon the family focus would mean that all-girl groups are sort of neglected.
Sis had a look too and found that none of the sites on your database really have prices on them. We're on a tight budget for our holiday because she's a student and I don't earn an awful lot and we weren't looking to spend more than about £80 a week on a pitch. We've seen some on other websites that charge up to £100 a week but we're really looking for less.
She found one though - South Penquite Farm near Bodmin. They charge £4 a night with a discount for stays of more than 5 nights. And seeing as we'd be there for two weeks, that's really good. We're just looking for good value, really.

Situated literally on the beach, outdoor pool, shop, take away cafe, several park areas for kids. Stayed there last May bank holiday, very reasonable prices, not a bad sight, evening entertainment for kids.
Pretty, but it's not what I'd call a 'reasonable' price and there are too many kids.
Incase you didn't actually read the first post we're two sisters aged 18 and 25 holidaying together. We don't really want somewhere crawling with children or quite as busy as that.

Not been to any of them but they look reasonably priced for Cornwall (not the cheapest place) Make sure you check out the reviews on here - that will give you an idea of what they are really like

Loads of young people there when we visited in the summer - we stayed at Wooda Farm Park - and had all the facilities you mentioned. Bude itself not too far, probably not that costly in a taxi (night out purposes) - there are reviews on the camp site search have a look and what ever you decide - enjoy and good luck !
If you want really low cost i personally think you will find that these sites will be limited in its facilities - re think - extra cost might be worth the location and facilites !!

Hi Countess Zero welcome to the site.
As this is your first post i'll give you a few tips.
I have found everyone to be very helpful and friendly. Sometimes the recommendations might not be what your looking for, and some times they might. I think your reply is a little bit abrupt. It was only a recommendation.
Anyway that said hope you find somewhere with your age group, and all your requirements.
Have a great holiday where you choose to go.

Hi we are going to Cornwall this summer we have chosen a site called Treloy near Newquay.it looks good, it will be the first time to Corwall for me, OH has been years ago, we are really looking forward to it.
Don't have any recommendations unfortunately but I'd not be impressed with any site treating two sisters as an all girl "group" and not being made welcome.

My reply wasn't abrupt, it was an appropriate response to someone who obviously hadn't read what I'd posted.
We've decided where we're going anyway - South Penquite Farm (if we can get a pitch that is). It's cheap, it's on Bodmin and it sounds wonderful.
