A day backpacking on the Gritstone Trail .
Started at Disley Railway way station .
Up very steep steps to Green lane and headed South along a rugged track for a couple of miles passed a funny sign on an old farm
" Violators will be Shot "
and 'Survivors will be Shot again ' LoL.
Then upto Bollinghurst woods with a view of the Reservoirs and The Cage in Lyme park .
Then turned West Down a deep tracked gully
around Bollinghurst bridge up a track towards Lyme park East lodge .

Turned left through a gate
and Followed the Alternative Gritstone Trail.
steep path to cock-knoll through farm and out onto tarmac road Mudhurst lane and upto the Bowstones .
Then along a Rugged Ridge line track to the Highest point of Sponds hill over 400m and Higher moor .
with Panoramic views of The Cheshire plain , Greater Manchester .
And the Counties Bordering
Derbyshire ,Staffordshire .

Then backtracking to the Bowstones
Dropped down the trail going West through Knights low woods And into the parkland of Lyme park
Passing Lyme Hall ( Pride and Prejudice fame) and
The followed uphill a track to (The Cage )
Then along the NCW trail downhill to The Exit lodge .
onto a narrow tarmac Red Lane passing down to Green lane to Walk around the Pretty village of Disley and the Rams Inn pub .
A lovely day out in the Beautiful countryside

Thank you Kindly
I'm very fortunate to live here in this part of Cheshire .
Never ceases to Amaze me .
As the walk is along a Ridgeline you get a magnificent view all round
Lyme park gets a lot of visitors as so much to see and the Heritage of the Hall and herds of deer .
And lovely variety of many walks .
I've walked and hiked the Gritstone Trail And camped out over 3
days
Although a testing hilly terrain.
after Mow Kop it's Downhill tracks and trails along canals to Kidsgrove .
With a lot of variety of landscape
