I was looking round the site and came across this http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/articles/view.asp?id=228 and was just wondering if anyone has bought or tried it and what are your views on it?

We have one and for us its perfect. We don't have a lot of room in the shed to store a rigid box and this justs rolls up and fits on a shelf. You can get a surprising amount of stuff in it as well. If space is a premium then go for it.
Just one thing though, get some of that non slip mat to put under the bands, not because it slips but it will stop rubbing on the paintwork.

I'm impressed with the capacity. We now have to balance what we can put in against the reccomended weight allowance.

Yet to take it on a long trip, (Norfolk in August.) used it on a short trip as a practice. No movement and no effect on car.

Not a long term solution for us (OH want trailer - I want new OH), but it will do us for the moment.

Hmmm, I wonder if that will fit on my car in front of the roof box I already have?

Well I only have a KA and I wanted it just to use on the short camping trips we go on, as the long trips we use my OH works van. You can get them on Ebay also

Not unless you have a stretch limo. It's as big as a 'normal' roofbox.

I have the handirack with the bag - the handiholdall or something like that. Really useful, and I just keep it in the back of the car when not in use. It must weigh a fair bit less than roof bars and a box, so thats a bonus when considering weight limits. Great capacity too.

My Terracan has roof bars fitted more or less the length of the vehicle - do I need "normal" bars to fit across to fit the Holdall on, or can I get away with a HandiRack?

We bought them a couple of years ago, when we were camping. They are stable and take the weight well.Biggest drawback is the securing straps go through the windows. I remember reading someone said that rain can come in through the windows by running down the straps. We never found out as it never rained when we used them. I would say they will never be as secure as roofbars but offer a good other option.
