Hello Campers,
some years ago I asked for help concerning the connector to my 1964 Rainhill Type 0174 old camping gas stove, which I bought on a trip in GB in 2017. As this issue is still not solved, so I cannot use the stove, and the stove is still stored in the barn, I would like to raise the question again.
A male adapter/connector with a thread about 11mm seems to be needed to get the stove connected to a gas hose.
Can somebody support me with the correct description for the thread and, in best case, a hint where to order such an adaptor or a complete gas hose set which fits for this old stove?

Thanks and Best Regards
Ludger

A Google brings up https://www.stoves.co.uk/en-gb/our-heritage . This mentions their “Rainhill factory” in the timeline. There’s a contact page - worth trying? They seem proud of their history & would surely want to help get a vintage item like yours back working.
I see the stoves are for sale online at £175 to £200. Not cheap!

Hello,

it's me again.

Both hints did not work out :-(
Base Camp said: ... we do not get involved in gas appliances as the regulations regarding gas in the UK are very severe.
GDCA.CX (the company behind Lions link) said: ... Unfortunately, we do not manufacture any camping stoves.

Maybe, there are other ideas?

Regards
Ludger

Maybe contact a domestic/ industrial gas engineer to see if they could make something up for you ?

Given the age and origin of the stove it is highly probable that the gas inlet has BSP (British Standard Pipe) thread. To confirm this, the linked web page explains how BSP threads are measured.

https://www.rowse.co.uk/blog/post/how-to-measure-bsp-fittings

See also https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304351900712?hash=item46dcc97428:g:X0MAAOSwwN1dy7EA&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&siteid=3&campid=5339172918&customid=&toolid=10001&mkevt=1
for an example of a fitting for connection to an 8mm flexible gas hose.

For permanent installation to pipework in a caravan/motorhome you would be looking for an (x) BSP to 8mm (or 6mm) compression fitting.

These fittings are not exclusive to the leisure industry. They are extensively used on compressed air (pneumatic) systems in industrial applications. This considerably increases possible sources of supply. You may find one local to you.

The operating gas pressure of the stove, from your picture, is given in INS.W.G. and converts as follows:

Butane 11 INS.W.G. = 27.40 Mbar    Standard butane regulator 28 Mbar
Propane 14 INS.W.G = 34.87 Mbar    Standard propane regulator 37 Mbar
