Delta Pegs are the dogs du dars. I have the yellow plastic uns and they are very robust and easy to spot when checking round the pitch upon striking camp so no worries about loosing em.
Besides 'Delta ground anchors' a good set of 9" or 10" 'rock pegs' for your main guylines, would be a good idea too, for hard 'gravelly' ground... Mine are 'half hard' 8mm. stainless, which I made a few years ago...
Another Delta fan here (hoping Rob'll send me some metal ones for Xmas with all the promo work I've done, lol)
Joking apart, you really can't afford to be without these as part of your kit....we've already lost some to a tent we secured a couple of weeks back to save it flying away!

I tried both sets this weekend. The spikes go in very quickly (this was at a camp-site with very hard ground) but I needed to use a claw hammer to get them out and they ended up scratched from the stones berried in the ground. The heads screw on, which is good, but I still managed to snap one of the heads hitting it in with my rubber mallet.
The Tikes are very strong, but again I bent one with my mallet (its an old weighted steel bound rubber coated one) and they do seem a little small compared to the spikes but they seem to hold in extremely well yet come out easier than the spikes.
I'd go with Deltas for the guy lines and these for everything else as they are very nice pegs just don't expect them to be bullet proof (unlike the steel deltas I have).
I bought 2 kilos of 8in nails approx 30 & some good tight fitting washers, being thicker than standard wire pegs they grip excellently in the ground but as soon as you get them moving with a claw hammer come out nice & smooth, cost me just over £4 for the lot, still use deltas for the main guys & porch though.
Hi Hellen, if you're thinking of purchasing Deltas, the best place to get them is from www.deltagroundanchors.co.uk. Just mention UKCS in your message for a 10% discount (which comes as a refund).
Thanks all for your kind comments.
I think (but I would) that Deltapegs are the strongest all-round peg on the market. Only in extremely hard ground will you need 'rock pegs'.

Delta Ground Anchors..the strongest, most secure tent pegs in the world! Nylon anchors twice as efficient as rock pegs in 'average' soil! Quality stainless pegs for tougher soil are available.
Hells bells!... If you used a 'Delta' on every guyline, of the 'Monty 12' (or similar) you'd end up with about twenty or more, which seems a bit excessive... I only use them on the four main tri-guys and the two corners of the bedroom pod, so six in total (plus two more for the 'annexe' when I use it) and my tent has always stayed 'rock solid' in strong winds...
Delta pegs have always been intended for main guy use only and don't forget that £1.50 is the total amount of postage you will pay for whatever number of pegs you order.
