Once again its time to pick everyone's brains to come up with ideas for a good site within walking distance of a village/town in the rhone/alps, provence or comte regions, i have looked on the site search facility but am still struggling, i'm going at the begining of July and just dont seem to be able to come up with anything!
Thought camping europa looked ok but ideally i'd love to get a list of about 5 or 6 and i can then whittle it down, all i'm really looking for is a decent site , walkable to a village / town with pitch sizes that are not too small!
Not asking too much eh? lol if anyone's been to La Citadelle at loches thats the kind of thing!
Many thanks n advance.

Domaine De Massereau is about a 10-15 min walk from the town of Sommieres. Web Site
It is situated between Montpellier and Nimes. It is a lovely smallish site and part of the Castels network. It is about the same size as La Citadelle at Loches, though as I haven't been there I wouldn't know how the feel of the sites compare.
Being situated much further south the Domaine de Massereau is not so green and lush as La Citadelle. The area is much more arid and the campsite has a rustic feel to it, but it is very well looked after.
La Citadelle looks very manicured, so I think if you are after a similar site it that respect you might be better keeping to the rhone/alps or comte regions.
We spent the first week in July 2009 at Camping Du Pylone near to Nice & walking distance to the town of Antibes. OK the drive down takes a little longer but it is worth it for the weather. The site is a mix of statics & tourers & camping right by the beach. Facilities on site are great with a it of entertainment on an evening. There is a railway station & bus stop 300 metres from the site entrance where trains will take you Nice, Monaco, and further into Italy for a few euros.
We have stayed two years running now at small ex municipal site in Aubignan, just north of Carpentras. Lots of people return every year. Depends what you want!! Short walk to village, large pitches, excellent, clean facilities, loads to do short drive/cycle distance. Has no pool but lake (with cafe) 10mins away in car. Site is called Le Bregoux (may have spelt that wrong!)

Like arnie321, we have been to Camping du Pylon, both in statics and touring, and also Camping la Brague, which is on the same lane but closer to the beach than Pylon, La Brague is a much more basic site but a fraction of the cost of Pylon, my Son was there back in May 2009, and came back sunburnt!, the area is Biot and is a superb location, these days though we go to the Southern Ardeche, same climate and much, much cheaper, 400 miles less drive, and a big saving on the tolls, and only 95 miles from the Med if you fancy a dip!.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
