We've stayed at this site 2 or 3 times in the last 3 years, and can honestly say that we have never smelled any sewage!! The cycling is lovely, if you want, you can cycle all the way to Dieppe!
There are also cyclepaths near St Valery sur Somme, and a bit further north, around Rue, and Fort Mahon Plage, with a number of sign-posted routes as well, we've done a number of those and they are really nice. When we were at Chateau du Gandspette last time we met a family who had crossed to Calais, and then cycled from Calais to the campsite, via the Canal du Calais, and then the forest paths to Eperlecques. They met grandparents at the site, and were staying with them, but said how lovely the ride had been. There are lots of other canals around that area, we've walked along some of them, and they would make great cycling, and also be very near to the port if you didn't want to travel too far.
Camping Les Saules http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=6034 near Blois in the Loire Valley is on a network of cycle paths. Highly recommended. We had to go twice to cover all the routes. There is a link on their website showing all the routes.

Will probably try one week in Neufchatel en bray and 2nd week somewhere around Normandy region.The Loire valley sounds lovely too but don't want to travel too far this year as we don't have much time.Maybe next year!
