Has anyone stayed in the Jura - Doubs - Saone-et-Loire regions?

We are travelling in August and I know there are loads & loads & loads & loads of sites.........they all look nice but a bit of helpful advice choosing one wouldn't go amiss.

Can anyone please help with recommending a site - not too dear - swimming pool - not a stopover site if poss - by a lake or river

We are 2 adults and a 7 year old and will be staying for 12 days

Thanks

We stopped at this one a few yrs ago, no pool but a beach by the lake a short walk from campsite. Nice area & a short way from Swiss border.

Lac de Chalain has 2 nice sites at opposite ends of the lake (Domaine de Chalain and Le Pergola if my memory serves me right). Suspect they may be expensive at that time of year but check them out.
We have stayed at both but its a while since so check reviews to see if anyone has recently been there.
Good luck with the search.

Hello! We stayed at Camping Fayolan in the Jura in, I think it was 2009. Its a Yelloh site. Its near Clairvaux les Lacs and on a lake. It has a lovely man made beach which we swan from early one morning. I would have thought any of the sites on that lake would be ideal. Its not a big lake so I should imagine the water by August would be really comfortable. It has a swimming pool too. Its quite a large site, we were there in June and was quiet. I really can't comment on that site now as its such a long time since we went, but the general area is great. Its near some waterfalls - Cascades du Hérisson. This is the link to the local tourist info.

I would definitely go again to the Jura but not in May or June. I think by August the weather should be settled. When we were there we had a lot of rain. And since then whenever we venture to that area it seems to be on the wet side. Its a scenically beautiful if you like forests, lakes, waterfalls etc.

Yes that will work, just plug it into socket in your caravan as you do here. You might need an adaptor to plug your ehu lead into site ehu but you can buy these in the UK from any camping shop for a few quid. Just ask for French ehu adaptor.

Has anyone stayed at either Camping Le Val D'amour - Ounans or the Camping de Boyse Champagnole?

We want to do 2 sites, one for a 7 year old to have fun in the water and one for us all to enjoy
