I always book directly and it is much cheaper. Looked at booking via C&CC but that was a lot more. I think it suits people who don't want too much hassle...but its part of the fun for me... translating emails using my o level French! (I know I could google but enjoy the challenge)
------------- 2026
Various weekends, weather and time permitting
April - Yorkshire and Yorkshire
June - Wiltshire and Oxfordshire
Autumn - North and Scotland
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
I don't think it's always cheaper to book direct if you're looking at big expensive sites in peak season. In fact it can sometimes be cheaper to go pre-pitched than take your own kit. We did Duinrell that way once, in a July.
eg The first time we went to Les Alicourts we booked direct. However the family on the next pitch had booked with Eurocamp Independent, and had paid less than us, again a July trip.
We tend to shop around, including getting "direct" costs. We've left the C&CC because we didn't feel the membership was worth it.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
