Depends which ferry port you are going to.  If you are just  taking a car have you tried speedferries.com return for £50.  There are loads of sites in france i have stayed near disney at lestangs fleuris.  This was a great site and only 25 mins from disney.  My parents live near Caen and there are literally 100's of great sites near there.  Try the campsite search section.

Where are you crossing from? - Suggest save money and go speedferry from Dover - then spend money on fun in France. Of course if you live in W Country the drive to Dover will be horrible but look forward to open roads the far side.

Do you like driving? - go at least as far as river Loire unless you are happy with Btit weather.

If it's only for a week, you'd be better off sticking to the Northern part of France, unless you're pepared to shell out a lot of cash on a ferry to the more southerly ports.
With a very early, (midddle of the night), ferry you can decide how far you are prepared to travel in one day, I'd say 3-400 miles max, and this opens up a lot of France for you. The further South you go, the better chances of good weather.
Sure you can't manage two weeks?
Best of luck.
Jim.

Hi Jo & Dave

If you can make it to The Loire Valley September will still be very hot here.

Have a look at our website or here:-

Check out www.Clairvacances.com    It would be about a 4-5 hour drive from Calais, but worth it!!
