Hi everyone, well we have just put down a deposit on our first van, a swift accord 2004, bought it from a reputable dealers! Collect the Tucson tomorrow, then need to get a tow bar fitted. OH wants to go on a towing/manoeuvering course, i looked at the caravan club who do it, is there anyone else? Security, we need to get something from it not being stolen so any ideas please what to buy? Also insurance, i just got a quote from caravan guard, can anyone else recommend an insurance company? We are very excited, it came with porch awning, and a few accessories, we need to get a battery and gas bottle and all the other bits and pieces so looking forward to our first trip away! thanks Ness
How exciting for you
We've been caravanning for a year now and love it.
We have a wheel clamp lock, a hitch lock and a cheapy caravan alarm which senses movement in the van - usually called shed/garage alarms. If you insure the van, they might have requirements of what security measures you have on it.
We haven't done the towing course, but hubbie has had a lot of experience with different vehicles and towing before.
Hi NessP, congratulations on your new van,As stated above, regarding insurance, Should look at brakedown recovery, for car and van, The CClub (according to post on here a week back) they do not take drivers who have not towed before.(something to do with the hitching and prep of van?) so good luck on your shopping trips.
