Thank you Claire for your very nice welcome, we've been on a few camping trips and we have booked to stay at a site called Mill Farm, we have stayed there before camping so I'm hoping we'll enjoy. I like the idea of having running warm water and a toliet !!!!
We pick up a 2008 caravan on Friday having worked our way up from a tent (complete with wee bucket and lid)...folding camper (oh the joys of having a sink AND running water, even if it was a foot pump on the floor :) to our first caravan 3 yrs ago...the bliss of having a proper loo with pump handle flush!
Now our new one has the modern electric flush, and I amaze myself that I can get so excited about it! haha.
Where abouts are you located Mark?

yes claire i know what you mean, we've got the pump amd turn toilet flush, havnt used it yet though, or added cemicals to it either, i like the water at the taps and hot water and heating too. its like heaven compared to the tent. from south wales by the way, up the Rhondda valleys.

hi welcome,we are as new as you , but addicted to this site already lol, we have just retired and got our 1st caravan a 1994 abbey solitaire 1 owner before us and i love it , but got to wait till sept to go away. 3rd time lucky fingers crossed , long story .you will find loads of tips and advice on here, everyone is helpful. we are from the valleys not far from pontypool, happy caravaning,
Welcome, I hope you will find lots of useful information on here, there is always someone who can help with all queries, and if it's nothing to do with caravanning, then post in the General section.
for my hubby after we got our 1st caravan 2 yrs ago, a 1994 Elddis only 3rd owner, we love it having had a TT for 5yrs and tents for the previous 7yrs before, just to get away from the damp canvas feeling and have all the comforts of home.
Does work out a lot more expensive than camping but as OH points out, it's so much cheaper than going abroad.
