Hi Gear Oasis 8, 7+ berth, (2015)

Location:   Cheshire      Added:   26/04/2026      Price: £ 400.00

Manufacturer:  Hi Gear  Sleeps:  7+  Year:  2015

Description:

We have here a big tent. I mean big. You might be someone, or know someone, who thinks theyve got a big tent. Youre wrong. We bought this about 100 years ago when our children were still cute, and we enjoyed some great family holidays.

Then our kids stopped being cute and we found out about places that had running water, and heating, and actual walls, (I think theyre called hotels?) and that was that really.

This tent package comprises:

Tent
Carpet
Footprint groundsheet
Porch (or servants quarters)
Rusty tent pegs. No mallet though, Im not bloody Mother Theresa.
Fading bit of paper offering your best chance of getting the tent back in the bloody bag.

Did I mention that its big? Its big. Its a good few years old now (I think we got it in 2015) so its not so easy to find the info online, but 5.5m x 6.7m (not including porch) sounds about right. Thats about 3 hectares.

Its not seen a massive amount of use (we reckon maybe 8 weeks in total) and is in really good condition throughout. Theres one internal strap missing and a bit of wear here and there, but this will be a really good family tent for some well meaning masochists.

We havent used it for a couple of years and have always had the kids around to assist, so putting it up today with just the wife and I was an interesting trip down memory lane. After the standard discussion about whether to pull it up from the front or the back*, it actually went up really easily. In fact, I only fantasised about killing my wife once during the whole process so Id say thats a success.

You could look at this, and then decide to go and buy one of those newfangled inflatable things, but rest assured I would find out where you are, wait until you are sleeping and then stick pins in your tent.

*Im not going to tell you. Annoyingly though, my wife was right.
