Escape to the heart of England smallest county and discover the perfect base for your adventure. Nestled on the south shore of Rutland water. The Paddock is an award winning adult only motorhome and touring caravan retreat offering a relaxing rural getaway where comfort, peace and tranquility along with nature come together.
Set in 4 acres The Paddock offers generous sized pitches with hardstanding and electric hook up. Whilst the site does not offer toilet and shower facilities we do have a chemical waste emptying point, water and recycling facility along with a tourist information area.
A warm welcome always awaits you at The Paddock an ideal base to explore the area. The jewel in the county is Rutland water one of Europes largest man made lakes now renowned for its recreational activities. Walking and cycling around the shoreline, The Paddock offers direct access to 17 and 24 mile circular cycle track. Wildlife, water sports including sailing, paddle boarding, fishing, golf and boat trips are amongst the many activities on offer. The international recognised nature reserve is also worth a visit. Within walking distance of the site is the famous Osprey project, making it one of the best places in the UK to spot these magnificent birds.
Very often described as the Cotswolds without the crowds our charming market towns of Oakham and Uppingham are close by, famous for independent shops, galleries, and cafes. Oakham castle is worth a visit with its unique collection of ceremonial horseshoes.
From traditional country pubs to award winning mitchein star restaurants Rutland is known for its great food and drinking, known as the county of good taste. The owners of the Paddock also own The Fox country pub located in the quaint village of North Luffenham just 3 miles from the site.
In summary Rutland offers a slower pace of life, with picturesque, beautiful countryside and peaceful lake. The Paddock is perfect for this seeking to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Nearby Attractions
Some 300 yards from the site is the Nature Reserve and Information Centre from which many species of wildlife can be observed including, in spring and summer, the famous Osprey.
Rutland Water nursery 400 yards from the site offering a contemporary feel with cafe and restaurant.
The Fox, award wining village pub, 3 miles from The Paddock. The famous homemade steak and ale pie is a must. Along with a choice of 4 real ale handpumps.

£26 per night for hardstanding pitch with Electric hook up £21 per night for hardstanding pitch NO electric Tariff includes motorhome or caravan with car, awning and 2 adults, well behaved pets very welcome. All of our pitches are of generous size with grass hardstanding and grass area. Adult only site for those seeking peace and tranquility.

Owner Directions
Take the road from Manton village towards Edith Weston. About three quarters of a mile after leaving Manton (just past the Rutland Water Garden nursery) turn left signposted Nature Reserve and Information Centre. Into single track lane and The Paddock is 200 yards on left.
Travelling from Edith Weston towards Manton, after two miles notice Rutland Water Golf Club on right. Keep going for half a mile and turn right into single track road signed to Visitor Centre and Nature Reserve. Site 200 yards on left.
