Gwerniago campsite is located in the heartland of rural Wales,in the southern part of Snowdonia National Park. Gwerniago is a working farm run by a Welsh speaking family. The campsite is situated just outside the village of Pennal in the beautiful Dyfi(Dovey) Valley.
There is a modern facilities block situated on the campsite. Facilities include a family room with bath, gents and ladies showers,individual toilets amd a disabled shower room. Showers are free and there is hot water for washing up.
Customers chose their own space when camping on a grass pitch without electric, at peak times pitches with electric have to be allocated.Enjoy a campfire near your tent and take in the lovely views around you. If possible please bring your own fire basket.

The area around the farm is ideally suited for bird watching and walking. Some of our regular visitors are the Red Kite. With good binoculars it is possible to view the Dyfi Ospreys nest from the campsite. We are near the RSPB reserve at Ynyshir, a past location of the BBC Spring Watch series.The campsite is popular with walkers, cyclists and families;the site offers elevated views over the Dyfi Valley, woodlands, and riverside walks.
The campsite is an ideal base for the golden beaches at Aberdovey and Borth, walking Cader Idris and the coastal path, cycling Mach 1,2,3 and Climax, Dyfi Bike Park (10 mins) and Coed y Brenin (40 mins drive)and watching the planes at Mach Loop.
The campsite is within walking distance of the village of Pennal where there are two popular eating places, The Riverside/Glan yr afon Hotel and Y Garth at Plas Talgarth.
There are several sporting activities within easy reach of the campsite including sea and fresh water fishing, clay pigeon shooting, mountain bike Centre, boarding centre, kite surfing hire and tuition, swimming pool and leisure centre.
The local area also caters for less energetic activities with its miles of golden beaches, historical attractions, country walks and endless supplies of peace and quiet.

The farm is situated 3 miles from Machynlleth, an historic market town; where the mountain biking routes of Mach1,2 &3 are situated. Aberdyfi renowned for its famous golf course, harbour and beaches is a 15 minutes drive away. Pennal village is within easy walking distance, the village offers a renowned restaurant and bar. The Centre of Alternative Technology is 4 miles away, Corris Craft Centre and King Arthur's Labyrinth 7 miles. Dyfi Bike Park 3 miles aaway.
The campsite is a 20 min drive to Tal y Llyn one of the viewing points for the Mach Loop. Talyllyn Railway is a 20 minute drive towards Tywyn and Cadair Idris mountain a 20 minute drive towards Dolgellau.
Situated 3 miles from Machynlleth on the A493 Aberdyfi coast road. If travelling from Birmingham, Shrewsbury, Welshpool, Newtown turn right by the clock at Machynlleth then turn immediately left after going over Dyfi Bridge, follow the road for 2 miles, turn left by the camping sign and then the first right onto the farm entrance. All enquires and booking in at the farmhouse.
