Woodend Caravan & Camping Park is a delightful, small family run park owned and run by Alan & Karen Ross who provide a wonderfully warm Scottish welcome to visitors.
With stunning views overlooking Loch Shin and the hills behind the park, we are located 6 miles from the village of Lairg which being the ‘Crossroads of the north makes it a perfect central base to go and explore the north and west highlands which is perfect for hill walkers, backpackers, fishermen, cyclists and motorcyclists alike.
The large camping field is undulating and gently sloping with some reasonably flat areas on a hill with open, panoramic views across the Loch to the hills beyond and all around.
The park is licensed to take 55 units, and all of the 30 electrical hook-ups (16A) are in a line near the top of the field. There are opportunities for fishing and hill walking.
The toilet block has recently been fully refurbished inside and out so is now fully insulated and heated with a new insulated roof, new showers, new hot water system and new central heating. The outside has been completely covered in larch cladding. Laundry with a washing machine.
A fully equipped camping kitchen is also available with kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge as well as cutlery, plates, mugs, tea, coffee and sugar, dishwashing sinks and breakfast bar.
We also have our very own static caravan for rent, Woodend Caravan is a 2020 Willerby Brockenhurst and sleeps 4 comfortably. There is a 3 night minimum stay and is priced at £130 per night. Please note, the caravan is only available for rent seasonally. Please ask for details.
Nearby Attractions
The famous Falls of Shin, with a visitor centre (about ten miles) is an ideal place to see the salmon leap. The pier Cafe in lairg is about 6 miles west of us nuyn

Achnairn is near the southern end of Loch Shin. Turn off the A838 single track road at signs for Woodend. From the A9 coming north take the A836 at Bonar Bridge, 11 miles northwest of Tain.
