Kingsettle Camping Retreat is a privately run 7 acre campsite hidden beneath King Alfreds tower on the edge of beautiful Somerset where it meets with Dorset and Wiltshire. Surrounded by glorious unspoilt countryside we offer a place to stay for just the night or for your entire holiday.
CAMPING
We have 18 large camping pitches all with a fire pit, you can purchase fire kits for £11 each, all you need for an evening under the stars, including the marshmallows! NOTE: The camping closes on the 1st September
SHEPHERDS HUT AND GLAMPING
We also have a privately situated hand made traditional Shepherds Hut (Gabriel) plus a smaller beautifully renovated Cattle Trailer (Daisy). Gabriel is open until 16th October

If you want to escape the campfire, I would recommend The Old Red Lion 3 miles by road or 2 by foot path, where a warm welcome with delicious food and drink awaits you.
Please note we work very hard to maintain the peaceful nature of this small country site. Im sorry we are unable to host parties or groups, Children 12 and over are welcome in the upper section of the site. To help maintain a tranquil setting only a maximum of two pitches can be booked together.

Situated just below King Alfreds Tower and woods, which adjoins Stourhead House and Gardens.

Glastonbury and City of Wells are half an hours drive and a little longer will take you to Bath.
The Leyland trail is just up to road, perfect if you have mans best friend with you (well behaved dogs welcome*).

Owner Directions
From Bruton; take the B3081 Wincanton road out of Bruton for approximately 1.5 miles to the Redlynch crossroads.
Turn left into Hardway then approximately 1.5 miles (past The Bull Inn)
Take the second right at the bottom of the hill onto Kingsettle Hill, signposted for Stourhead /King Alfreds Tower.
Kingsettle Campsite is then half a mile on your left.
