Adults only (16+). Dogs welcome. Batcombe Vale is a small, friendly and relaxed campsite tucked into a hidden vale in the rolling hills of Somerset, near Bruton.
If you`re looking for somewhere genuinely quiet - wildlife lakes, birdsong, dark skies and a slower pace of life - this is the place for you. We`re the right choice if you want to sleep well, walk, sit by a lake and do very little at all. however, we`re not the right choice if you want to stay up late or make noise.
We`ve been welcoming guests for over 40 years and were named Best Campsite in Somerset on Channel 4`s The Perfect Pitch.
We have 30 individual grass pitches, all adjacent to a hard roadway for easy access, with electric hook-ups, water, drainage and rubbish points throughout.
We welcome tents, campervans, motorhomes, trailer tents and single-axle touring caravans.
All pitches are different - some more open, some more sheltered - but the views are great from wherever you are.
The facilities are simple and well kept: free hot showers, clean and flushing loos, hot water throughout, washing-up sinks and a chemical disposal unit.
We have complimentary tea and coffee for guests. Fire bowls can be hired and logs are sold on site.
Our retreat is a calm and secluded space tucked into rolling Somerset hills, where meadows, a hidden glade and a beautiful wildlife lake replace the noise and pace of everyday life. Here, nature completely sets the pace - and that, we`ve found, is exactly what our guests need
There`s plenty of wildlife to watch, walks of varying lengths directly from the campsite (including a 30-minute stroll to an award-winning local pub).
