Our Camping and Caravan Park is set on 1.2 acres of level land. For tourers the site is hard standing with metered electric hookups (so you only pay for what you use, which during summer is usually around £1.50 to £2.00 per night). For tents we have a well cared for grassed area. We have excellent toilet and shower facilities on site and we do sell our own eggs as well as home-made jams, marmalade, chutneys, lemon cheese and honey and some gifts. We also have a unique Mining Museum and a small cafe where you can treat yourself to a full English breakfast a light lunch or a superb cream tea with home-made scones and our own strawberry jam.Free WIFI is available on site.
We welcome small family groups and the children will enjoy feeding the many rescue animals on the farm and will probably enjoy a little ride on Robbie one of our miniature Shetland ponies.
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead as we have many ex battery hens which are free range and will wander about the site and will become regular visitors to your caravan or tent especially if you feed them.

This is only the second year for our superb 6 metre Bell Tent can sleep a family of 4 and is complete with everything you need for a luxury countryside break, including all bedding for the king size raised airbed (bring sleeping bags for the children) so all you need to bring are your clothes and tooth brush.Like our beautiful Shepherds Hut (which just sleeps two adults) it has it own outside table and chairs as well as a gas barbecue. The Bell Tent has a separate kitchen tent with everything you need and included in the price is your gas and electricity.

The Shepherd's Hut has a full oven, a fridge, hot water, a TV and a superb bed settee with a quality memory foam mattress. Both are non smoking units and we ask that no outdoor shoes are worn inside, so please bring slippers.

The cost per night for a couple in the Bell Tent is £100 per night with a minimum stay of two nights which is fully inclusive and in the Shepherd's Hut is £199 per couple for a two night stay. Please note that no dogs are allowed in either of these units

NB we do not take hen or stag groups

Nearby Attractions

We are on the outskirts of Burnley in open countryside not far from the villages of Barley and Newchurch, which were made famous in the stories of the Pendle Witches in fact the shop Witches Galore is based in Newchurch. There are many superb walks in the area and we have detailed information on the ones leaving the centre of Nelson on a daily basis. A 15 minute drive away is Boundary Mill a haven for shopaholics, within 45 mins you can be in the Beautiful Trough of Bowland and in little over an hour be at the seaside.
There are many historical places to visit in the area indeed on our own site is Woodend Mining Museum, and we are near to the Weavers Triangle, Gawthorpe Hall and Towneley Hall, In fact we are near to so many different attractions and yet you will feel miles from anywhere.

From Junction 8 M65 take the A6068 towards Colne straight on through two sets of lights. In about 5 miles follow the brown sign for Barden Marina turning right down Greenhead Lane, go over the Motorway bridge into a 30mph . The road dips steeply away and in the bottom you will see the river bridge, turn right here onto Woodend.

Carry on to the Black & White Camping & Caravan Site sign 3rd entrance on your right after you have gone under the motorway bridge. Turn up the lane through the open gate and at the top turn right into the site
