Description
This is an adults only site
Pitches: 5
We are currently open Opening Dates this year: 01/01/2021 to 31/12/2021
We are a small working farm building up our own herd of pedigree Gloucester Old Spot Pigs, Boer Goats and flock of Herdwick Sheep in addition to the farmyard ducks, geese and chickens. Our products are sold seasonally through the family shop "Halfords Butchers" in Tewkesbury.
We can accept up to 5 Motor Caravans or Caravans at any one time at the farm for stop overs and stays. If the weather is adverse and access to the paddocks is restricted, we do have hard standings in the main yard where electric hook-up is also available.
Yew Tree Farm has been on this site since circa. 1500, the main house that you see was built around 1750. Our Georgian home has been sympathetically decorated inside to reflect the periods since it was built.
As part of our farming mix we produce our own "Farmhouse Perry", (proper pear cider), made from the perry pear trees on the farm. The saying goes that to be real perry the pears have to have been grown within site of May Hill which is in full view of the farm, so we must have the perfect Perry, (or at least we like to think so). The Perry is fermented and stored in our ancient cellar with its cobbled floor and stream, a true farmhouse Perry., tastings can be arranged by appointment and we have products available for sale.
Bed & breakfast is also available, all rooms en-suite with showers breakfast is served in the main dining room. We do need to point out as can be seen from the picture being able to manage stairs comfortably is essential.
As part of our continual environmental commitment anyone staying will be able to buy the 'Leisure Depot Organic Green Toilet Chemical' at just £2 for 2 Litres, (that's heavily subsidised below cost price), as we are keen to get people to switch over to the green chemicals toilet solutions, this is a really great environmentally sensitive product.
Yew Tree is located on a very quiet country lane with stunning views of May Hill in Gloucestershire and Marcle Ridge from all the bedrooms plus the Malvern Hills from the grounds in an easterly direction.
Samples and the chance to buy some of the limited perry pressings will be available at the two great events that we take part in during the year are: - The 2020 Big Apple 'Blossom Time', Cider and Perry weekend will take place on Saturday & Sunday May 9th & 10th And Open Farm Sunday June 7th 2020
