Description

Pitches: 6

Pantybarcud is a small campsite with just six pitches, surrounded by idyllic woodland, within walking distance of village Drefach Felindre. Just half an hour from West Wales beaches.

Our campsite is small and spread over 2 fields and we are dog friendly. There is lots of space around the site for them to run free.

There are three grass pitches for tents in one field, all of which don`t have electric. There are no cars allowed in the field with tent pitches.

There are an additional three non electric grass pitches for small campervans in an adjacent field.

We tend to maintain a low profile , here in the house if needed but generally our visitors prefer to be left alone!

This is not a campsite on a flat field with clearly defined pitches, neatly mown grass and gravel paths! We have tried to make it as natural as possible

There are no electrical hook ups. Phones can be charged by the house and there is a small fridge available and freezer for ice packs

Wifi is available in the yard and 4G is pretty good in both fields

There are 2 composting toilets and an electric shower with a composting toilet

We are happy for you to have campfires, just be sensible. There is plenty of fallen timber

Generally paths are not necessarily clearly defined on our land, ie not marked or with flat surfaces. However you can see where we walk with our dog Spock . We are happy for you to wander freely as you wish. There are tripping hazards , e.g. tree roots ,we do try to minimise these but some of them are just exposed root systems and a natural feature of woodland and our land and other hazards eg the occasional wasp nest in a fallen tree

The slopes in the fields are not a flat surface, there are clumps and tufts and uneven patches. We do strim some areas but not excessively ,so hazards are hidden.

On the camping field we have taken a wooded field with a slope and created three large level pitches , a communal area, a covered kitchen. We have tried to retain the natural environment and beauty, working with the natural gradient and features.

The van field is a field! There is clearly defined mowed flat area and some paths mowed into the field. We are happy for you to park elsewhere in the field if it is feasible .

You can walk your dogs on our land but please shut any gates. These fields are private, however our neighbours do walk their dogs so you may meet Bongo and Jasper and of course Spock. We would prefer you just to pop the pooh into the hedgerow , but there is a container for used pooh bags On the many public rights of way the normal countryside code applies to dogs i.e. they must be under control.

Low impact is important to us as a way of living our life, whenever feasible recycling, upcycling . There are ample recycling facilities on the camping field and in the van field. We ask you to sort and use the correct bins
We do additionally have a converted barn we rent out. Some people use the barn with other party members camping

The track is private but used by others , most traffic drives slowly and carefully. It is additionally a public right of way and well used.

Please bring a torch/ lantern there is minimal lighting in the field and what there is, is solar powered

Nearby Attractions

We are about a 15 minute walk to the village of Drefach Velindre. There is a Morrison daily, fish and chip shop, health food shop and a pub Tafarn Jon y Gwas

Newcastle Emlyn is 4.5 miles away , a delightful market town with cafes and a number of places to eat.

The Museum of the Welsh Woolen Industry is in the village and worth a look. It has a delightful cafe.

Beaches are approx 30 minute drive.

The post code to the village shop is SA44 5UG . The post code to our house Pantybarcud is SA44 5XJ but this takes you to the top of our track only , it is easier to start at the shop.

There are two entrances to our track and it is important that you take the correct one, as one entrance brings you along a really bumpy track. Google and apple maps may find us

With Morrison Daily shop on your right, there is a t junction with a church, turn right at the t junction and then immediately left and follow the churchyard wall up the hill.

There is a left hand bend with three terraced cottages , continue past these and you will come to a small layby /passing space on your right hand side.

We are the next track on the right with a wooden sign Pantybarcud. The track has a centre drain , please drive slowly

Please phone the house phone 01559371262 or text 07970077315 just before you arrive so we can pop up to meet you.

Camping field is to the left. Campers can park in the van field to unload. Please don`t block the actual track

A rough arrival time is really helpful. The house phone is 01559 371262. Don`t drive around looking for us ! Best to ring.
