🌿 Welcome to ‘The Shire` — a peaceful, eco-conscious hideaway in the heart of West Sussex, shortlisted for the 2024 CAMC CL of the Year Sustainability Award.
Swallow Beck CL is a sustainably run, five-van adults-only site nestled within a Special Protection Zone for birds, right on the edge of the South Downs National Park. Due to council licensing, we`re open for 6 months of the year, with a strict maximum of two adults per pitch — ensuring the peaceful feel of the site remains protected.
🌄 From your pitch, enjoy big skies, green views, and glimpses of the South Downs. You might even catch a flypast from the Spitfire or Harvard overhead, thanks to our close proximity to Goodwood Aerodrome.
🐴 Home to a Heritage Pony Stud Founded in 1971, our Connemara Pony Stud is one of the UK`s longest established. These rare ponies, with roots in the West of Ireland, are admired across the world. Please enjoy watching them — but no touching, for their safety and yours.
🐦 Nature & Tranquillity First Set in a peaceful, agricultural bubble known locally as ‘The Shire`. Managed with an ecological approach — wildflower meadows, bat-friendly hedgerows & a field left fallow for biodiversity
