Located in "La Vanoise" National Park, the "Val d'Ambin" is a campsite with an exceptional landscape of the surrounding mountains. Many accommodation available on site open 335 days of the year, 165 large campsites, 10 cabins and 5 Hannibal tents.
Campsite: Very popular because they are large, campsites Val d'Ambin are spread over more than 550 ares (13.5 acres). Mowed site, with nearby access to water and electricity. The cleanliness of the sanitary facilities are a priority and are even flowered in summer. Possibility to camp in winter with camping-car ou caravane, front of the slopes of cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
Cabins: Until 6 persons in 2 rooms for 2 and a sofa. A bathroom and separate W.C. A kitchenette (with dishwasher and microwave), lounge area and terrace. This always on magnificent view on the most beautiful mountains of "La Vanoise" National Parc: Dent Parrachee, Roc Noir, Le Ratteau d'Aussois, ...
Hannibal tents: Half wood, half tarp, or better known by the name of Trapper's tent. Positioned in the heart of an encampment decorated on the track of the Carthaginians, the great Hannibal. These tents can receive up to 5 people in a room of two, one bedroom of three and sitting area with kitchenette. On the outside terrace overlooking to La Vanoise.
Staying a week or more. A simple step on the road to Italy or to the Route des Grandes Alpes. Camping Val d'Ambin already met many people.
Nearby Attractions
In a valley remain authentic, near Bramans, a Savoyard village at important historical past. Hannibal, Napoleon, Charlemagne and many popes have been here. The main crossing point between Paris and Rome.
-Forts de l'Esseillon: These five fortifications are nothing ordinary. The largest (Victorio Emanuelle II) built on a rocky barrier, dominates the Devil's Gorge. -St Pierre d'Extravache: First Church of Savoie (ruins), the beautiful views surrounding it is Breathtaking. -But Also: Mont-Cenis lake, Hannibal Trial, Bramans Refuges trial, La Vanoise National Parc.
Many recreational sports: -Summer: Hiking, Rafting, Via Ferrata (in Devils Gorge), mountain biking, Zip line (the longest in Europe), paragliding, canyoning, ... -Winter: Ski, Skiing, Snowshoeing, dog sledding, ice climbing, ...
Road from Lyon/Chambery: Follow "Turin", in the Maurienne Highway. Exit at "Modane". Then follow sign "Haute-Maurienne-Vanoise" or "Lanslebourg", 9mi up on the "Le Verney" (town of Bramans). turn right twice.
Road from Mont-Cenis pass (Italy) and Iseran pass: Follow "Modane" from the village of "Lanslebourg" on 5mi. After "Le Verney", turn left and right.
Train: -All year: TGV train to "Modane" station, in connexion from Paris (Gare de Lyon), Lyon airport, Chambery or Torino/Milano. -In winter: TGV to Modane from Lille, Paris CDG Airport and Disneyland. -From Modane use taxi or shuttle.
