Adult only site. We had to visit Ross on Wye in our campervan for a family funeral. We arrived after dark but we were able to find our pitch ok, hooked up without any problems.
The toilet and shower block was clean, the showers could do with larger wash basin (the one cubicle that had a basin was almost unusable due to the soap dispenser directly above it). It would have been useful if there was a hair dryer.
The Yew Tree pub itself was warm and welcoming with a pizza menu available, we opted for chips though which were lovely and fluffy.
The road noise was a little intrusive but would not normally kept me awake but as a cough was keeping me awake I heard it.
The site is well positioned for easy access to Ross (1. 5 miles) and there is a bus stop near by. Presumed booking is a must as we would have liked to stay another day or two to explore the area, but it was fully booked.
Perfect for a short break we stayed for new year's eve for 3 nights & had a great time we went with friends who had a caravan?
I had a motorhome the pitches as stated are a little bit on the sloping side but not a problem if you have Leveling ramps but very good sized pitches all electric hook up.
Green waste and Elson close by
Small toilet and shower block and the water was very welcoming hot??
Bus stop right outside the pub perfect for Ross on Wye ? Hereford? With Monmouth &Symonds Yat near by
The pub itself is a real Typical Cider pub with a huge selection of cider as you can imagine 😀 also beers & Lager. They also have pizza catering facilities and have to say they are very delicious 😋. very welcoming & Friendly staff.
We shall return?
My Review would have been 10s all round but we noticed that the toilet block wasn't cleaned on a daily basis. I will always give a review every where we stay & This is only a minor issue???
A big Thank you to all the staff on a very busy new year's eve and making our stay a great experience. Happy new year 🎉 via mobile
Stayed at this site over the entire festive period with the dog.
Not full and very peaceful especially between 24 to 29 December 2025.
The pub was opened every day until about 21:00 with reduced hours on 25 December 2025 only.
Clean and warm toilets and showers block, colder in the indoor washing up area with 2 sinks due to lack of heating.
I attended their monthly Cider Club as part of my stay - very interesting to hear about a grower of cider apples and pears branching out into cider and perry making, and is about to launch their own products.
Firebird Kitchen, the resident wood-fire pizzeria was opened on Saturday 27 December and New Year's Eve was excellent as per usual.
A very pleasant stay.
I have said this before - this is a very good site for a pub site, and have already booked my stays next year.
It is under 2h's drive from home, and if schedules allow, I would go there for short trips to attend more of their events now that my elderly cat has gone over the Rainbow Bridge, bless her!
Just returned from another excellent stay at this pub site to attend their Ross-tober-fest.
Already booked up to stay over the festive period in 2025, and a few trips in 2026.
Very good and clean facilities for a pub site, with a well-stocked village shop just up the road from the pub.
Friendly and helpful staff at the pub.
Lovely orchard walks with no traffic also just around the corner from the pub.
The pub and cider shop has a vast range of ciders and perries on tap and for sell, plus other drinks too.
Excellent pizzas and other offering from their resident food partner, namely Firebird Kitchen; and also Khunmae Kitchen which is a Thai pop up during my stay.
Love this site, in case that is not apparent from my reviews!
Returned to this site to attend the Cider Club event which was a stand-alone event before the very popular Ross-on-Wye Cider Festival.
As I have commented before, this site's facilities is very good for a pub site, and I wish all pub sites could be as good as this one.
Over the winter, the owners of Ross-On-Wye Cider and Perry Company who owns the pub as well as Broome Farm which is their orchard, had added sign-posted and informative walks around their near 50 acres orchard, with rest stops with benches.
There are 2 walks, a 2. 5km and a 5km, free to use and just around the corner from the pub and campsite.
They have a shop on site selling primarily their own ciders and perries, and there are loads to choose from with many made from a single-variety of apple or pear which is their speciality.
In case I have not mentioned, local buses are available with stops very close to the campsite.
A well-stock village shop and Post Office is just up the road.
I keep coming back to this site as I love it there, being next to a pub (I LOVE ciders and perries) with great facilities, with very helpful and friendly staff.
Already booked to return in October 2025 for their Rosstoberfest and also the New Year weekend. Also booked for 4 events in 2026 including the New Year weekend 2026 going into 2027.
With easy access to the Wye Valley, or the Malverns, this is a fantastic spot for a back-to-nature camping escape, with all electricity generated on site. Non-electric grass pitches with fire pits for your tent or campervan, or enjoy the home comforts of various quirky wooden cabins and thoughtfully renovated shepherd's huts. Despite its offgrid feel, guests can access brand-new toilets and hot showers.
With thoughtful touches around the camping field, including planting, beautiful wild grasses, and flourishing vegetable beds, the site sits between Ledbury, Ross-on-Wye and Newent, providing a pick of independent shops and amenities. Pubs and cider makers are located a stroll away, and dogs are welcome. Look forward to a warm welcome from hosts Ruth, James, and their cheery canines Chaucer and Luther! Find out more here
1st IMPRESSIONS on entering the site which is located behind the pub wasn't good as the entrance was overrun with over hanging branches so low we took half the tree with us on the entering caught up in the awning rail
The site appears initially to be a bit scruffy with long term pitch rental however we found the residents very friendly
The facilities are lovely and clean and even heated pitch is off a fair size and hardstanding facilities
Toilets and showers are very clean with chemical waste as well as dirty water outlets, ,
The bus route outside is very handy route to Ross on wye and Hereford as well as Gloucester
We didn't have time to visit the Inn but it looked cosy in fact we had a enjoyable peacefully stay via mobile
Everybody has different views of sites and what bothers one doesn't bother another but I was disappointed with this smallish site, it is really split into two parts with one being the hard standings for visiting tourers and the other being 7 old permanent caravans and awnings most with that lovely green mold colour so the first impression is 'run down'. Here are a list of likes and dislikes
Liked-Pub on site & No extra for EHU usage
Disliked-No site sign, coming from Ross on A49 you turn right at the Peterstow signs and left at the yew tree mobile home site going through a gap in the hedge-no gates/security
Most of the long term caravans are showing their age, a lot seem empty
Its a adults only site but that doesn't apply to visitors
Nuisance dog barking from the corner caravan, up to 1. 22am one night
No drinking water tap labels and rubbish bins not signposted(wheelie bins behind fence by pub)
No wardens or interaction with owners-all done online
Old sign on noticeboard saying £20 a night but its £25
Sloping site but no bricks or blocks available
No wifi except in pub but reasonable 4g signal on vodafone
Hard standings quite narrow so you walk on wet grass to access caravan
Some road noise from the A49
The toilets/showers are unisex in a hut but nice enough
Stayed here for 4 nights over Ross Cider Festival as I prefer to have better facilities.
As I have had mentioned in my past reviews, this site is great for a pub site with very good facilities. Very clean and tidy, and the staff at the pub were very friendly and helpful as always.
The pub serves great ciders and perries that are made by Ross-on-Wye Cider and Perry Company, plus a good range of beers and spirites etc.
Their partner Firebird Kitchen serves great pizzas etc. On certain days.
There is a well-stocked Londis just up the road from the pub and campsite which is also a Post Office.
I did not venture out much as walking up and down to Broome Farm where the Cider Festival took place was enough for me!
Although this site is Adult-only, it is right next door to the pub's beer garden, and the pub is family friendly! Therefore, be prepared for some noise especially when the weather is nice and/or when the pub has an event.
All in all, another very nice stay, and I am going back there for their Ross-tober-fest (German-themed beer festival) in October and also the New Year weekend in 2024.
