 We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at this site. Well laid out and spacious pitches.
Quiet and peaceful stay.
Close to the visitor centre and plenty of walks from the site.
Justin welcomed us on our arrival and was very pleasant and informative.
We will definitely visit again.

Adult only site, even though there was a young child in one unit. No facilities but water and Elsan disposal.
Electricity is £5. 00 extra which I think is a bit steep for summer.
No views of the lake because of high hedges.

What a beautifully kept site! Grass was well trimmed and no grass cuttings left around. The bin area was clean and tidy and the CDU was a pleasure to use.
The owner welcomed us on site and gave us a brochure of the area. Also passed on some information about the lake and surrounding villages.
We had some activities booked on the lake, so the location was excellent.
It was so peaceful.
Went to visit the Osprey nest which was a 1k walk. Well worth the £7 entry fee to the nature reserve. (with over 60 concession).
Would definitely stay on this site again.
Not sure how much as wife booked it and she can't remember, but think it was around £26 per night inc EHU but no toiets / showers.

Lovely spacious reasonably flat pitches, easy access, easy route to the site, easy booking process and the communication by email is good.
Ideal spot for getting on to the perimeter of the beautiful reservoir heading just down the hill on either cycles or on foot. There are no toilet or shower facilities but they are not needed if you have your own. The ehu, water and waste areas are all perfectly maintained.
The view from the campsite to the water is obscured by overgrown hedges which is a shame, if these were maintained at a lower level the view would be beautiful.
Edith Weston and North Luffenham have local pubs both within walking distance.
There is a wonderful garden centre just around the corner, it has a stunning new restaurant called The View and is the best place to sit and watch the water with a coffee. The View is also a wedding venue so Saturday evenings can be quite lively.
The site is adult only and there is a strict no loud music policy, the site trades on tranquility but while we were there a couple turned up and played music outside the whole time. This was right in front of our van and it did spoil our trip to some degree. Everyone else was respectful and quiet. There’s always one that doesn’t read the room.
We would definitely visit again and give it another try

A very nice site, easy to find, down the same road as Lyndon Top. Site. Good communication from the owner beforehand. It's very well kept.
Easy to get to Oakham for supplies, there is a Tesco in South Street. There is also a small shop at Edith Weston.
Unfortunately we didn't think that the £14 we spent on the bird sanctuaries was worth it, we only saw the video of the osprey. Not the fault of the site of course. There don't seem to be any places to get to the water without paying.
We won't be going again, but if you are really into birding then it's worth it. It's hillier than I expected, with some good views.

Fantastic spot overlooking Empingham Reservoir from every pitch. There is a viewing platform too. Well kept site with good pitches, some with EHU, allocated on booking, although you can request at time of booking.
Plenty of water taps. Black waste disposal and recycling available.
The owner pops round to meet you, delightful chap who clearly puts the effort in to make the site welcoming and provide advice.
We primarily visited for a weekend after the NEC show and to cycle round Empingham Reservoir, something not done since the construction days back in the '70s as used to live nearby and cycle up after school.
Lovely cafe on the far side. Don't miss going into Normanton Church. Lovely pub at top of the hill climb, Horse & Jockey for a well earned pint and meal, but it stops food at 3pm, so time it right.
We will visit again, its a stunning place to spend time.

Lovely peaceful immaculately kept site. Easy access with nice view over Rutland Water.
Friendly owner who is happy to give any information you require and also a very useful book of the area.
Facilities are good (we knew there were no toilets or showers before we booked).
We are happy to recommend this site, so many lovely places to visit within easy reach.
We had a meal at the Fox which was excellent, make sure you book as it's very popular.

Really nice site, views of Rutland water, with helpful owner.
The pitches are mostly flat, but some may need small levelling blocks.
Water taps on site, waste water drain (but may need pipe to reach drain if emptying directly from motorhome).
Highly recommended for a peaceful stay, but note it is for adults only.

Excellent Site. Well kept and friendly
We were blessed with excellent weather. Generous pitch sizes.
There is a viewing platform to enable even better view of Ritland Water.
Garden Centre is a few hundred yards away with a Cafe
All in all Superb

First time at this site and we chose it particularly for the proximity to Rutland Water.
Pitch is allocated prior to arrival and is on a wonderfully open grassed area. Pitch sizes are generous and there are water and waste points dotted about.
No facilities here but we are used to using our own so they were not missed.
Owner Brian and son Jason visit the site every day and are very approachable.
The cycle track around the water begins at the site entrance, and we would advise turning left and going around in an anti-clockwise direction. This is because although you will encounter some ups whichever way you go, there is a steep drop from the site down to the water edge.
We would recommend a visit to Barnsdale Garden Centre Cafe where there is a great breakfast to be had. There is a garden centre near the site which also offers breakfast but we didn't visit.
There are views of the water from the site, and there is a viewing area, although these views are being impinged by the neighbours letting their boundary hedges grow taller.
We had a great stay here and would stay again.
