Brilliant campsite, although it was our base whilst my grandchildren were attending a week long event at Portsmouth University. But they looked forward to returning in the evenings to explore the grounds.

I’ve had to promise we’ll be back so they can try out some of the activities😁

The staff were polite and helpful as Grandad needed an A&E visit 🙈 They were really lovely.

No disabled toilets was Grandads only grumble but he managed

We stayed for a long weekend with our 4yr grandson for a visit to Marwell zoo.

The pitches are numbered, which for us is a good thing, as it stops people camping too close.

The site itself is in a flat area with lots of mature trees, so looks very nice to camp in.

There is a good kids play area, with a giant chess and draughts board, together with a giant snake and ladders board.

There are plenty of warm showers, washrooms and dishing areas.

There is supposed to be a cafe doing take aways, but it only sold tea, coffee and choc bars.

When we stayed there was an event going on, so we could not access the river, which you have to pay extra for. But we were informed prior to making the booking.

In summary, a really nice site, but overpriced @£35 per night, way too much expensive for what it is.

Filthy & inadequate facilities - even straight after being 'cleaned'.

Great shame.

Beautiful site but a noisy children's playground at summer weekends.

A friendly place for children. Many attractions.

We were kayaking. Happy children.

An ideal place to spend family time. We are very pleased.

We will definitely go back there again.

Perfect for what we needed (a base for sleeping whilst visiting an elderly relative over a few days, along way from our home).

The site is flat, plenty of space (it was not busy), very quiet at night,

Clean facilities and pretty surroundings.

Amazing campsite. Clean facilities and plenty to do for the kids.

The children really enjoyed being able to go paddle boarding up the river.

There are also plenty of activities that you can sign up to for children to do at fairthorne so they will never get bored.

The location is great as not far from beaches or woodland area.

Clean toilets and showers and washing up facilities.

We have stayed at this campsite every year for the last 8 years.

It’s not too expensive, plenty of space, never any trouble,

The kids love it as there is plenty to explore.

Feels totally safe and the staff are so helpful.

Can’t recommend highly enough and we will be back again next year.

Great relaxed camp site, that you are allowed fire pits at - a must when it gets chilly! There is also the option to hire them if you haven’t got your own.

They also make fresh pizza which is great for the evening you arrive, as you can just sit back as soon as you pitched.

Excellent clean facilities and amazing showers (I judge the showers as I’m able to wash my hair here, if you know you know!)

Love it, been coming for years and can’t wait til next time

Visited for the Queens Jubilee bank holiday weekend.

Whilst we were told the site was fully booked during our stay, there was huge amounts of open space between the tents which was fantastic.

The on-site facilities are great and activity options through the YMCA.

Big thank you to the management (Jim) for another great stay and warm welcome!
