We last stayed at Bolbery Farm Campsite nearly 25 years ago and we always remembered the friendly and helpful sister's who were running the site back then. Guess what. They still are! Fiona and Elaine are the most welcoming of hosts, who make everyone feel like close friends and take the time to chat and offer advice about the local area.

The site itself is set overlooking farmland and sea views. The pitches are very spacious though. You will probably need levelling wedges as some of the pitches are sloping (this is Devon!).

The facilities are superb, very modern and spacious, though there are no plug sockets apparent so if bike packing or hiking may be an issue if you need to charge your phone. No shop as such, but some basic odds and ends can be purchased from reception.

There is an on site coffee wagon that sells great coffees, pastries, snacks etc. Most days there are visiting food wagons and these are publicised on information boards near reception.

The walk into Malborough is a bit dicey as the narrow lanes are very busy with traffic and we found that walking via the lane that runs past Broadmoor Farm, traffic free albeit a longer walk (4 mile round trip).

This is accessed by going through the excellent on site dog walk area. On that note there are numerous dog waste bins and poo bags provided. There is also a dog and wetsuit washing station.

All in all this is a truly excellent site thanks to Fiona and Elaine, we won't be leaving it another 25 years and look forward to coming back soon!

Stayed here in May and had such a chillaxing time we booked again for the end of June.

Gently rolling well kept site, just needed a few blocks to level up on our spacious pitch. Great sunsets over the sea.

Toilets are new and very well kept.

The host is a star and will recommend all the best walks and places to visit while you are here.

(Approach road may be an issue for the faint-hearted, lengthy single track section, but I understand an escort can be arranged).

Brilliant site in a fantastisch environment. Large pitches and modern facilities.

But the star of the show is the owner. What a charming lady! She had all kinds of tips for us what to do even for our next stop in Cornwall.

This is the site you want to visit each year.

Very nice & clean campsite with electric and non electric pitches.

Campsite owners are very nice & told us all about the local dog friendly beaches even where there was a woodland walk with a river because it was hot.

Shower block is new & clean.

Well worth the stay.

We have just returned from an eight night stay at Bolberry house farm.

We found this site by accident really and are so glad we did.

The pitches are enormous and all have great views

We stayed on the main park and had fabulous views down to the sea.

The park is spotless and very well organised. Fiona was the perfect host and could not be more helpful, or knowledgable of the locale.

We would recommend this site without hesitation.

The best campsite. Very helpful and responsive by email. The owners were super helpful.

The shop was small but good with real essentials and good local maps - lots of local advice too if you want it. Top field has sea view at one end, and rolling countryside otherwise.

Our pitch had a hedge to protect us and was very large. The new loos are fabulous - pristine clean and nicely decorated. Warm showers.

Good washing up room with fab sea view - and also washers (£7) and driers (£1 per go).

Owners helped us find the best pitch for us on arrival, changing our booking to the top field.

Just over a mile's walk into Hope Cove (two different routes) and fantastic coastal walking in every direction - also lots of nice pubs and places to eat.

Great long views along the coast nearby.

Lots of single track roads with passing places to get there.

I returned to Bolberry House Farm in my tent having stayed here in the 1980's in a static caravan. As the other reviewers have said it is a very lovely, peaceful and clean site.

What I would have liked to seen is a stool in the showers to put one's things on or for less able people to sit down on whilst dressing/undressing. I would have also liked to see a microwave in the kitchen.

I thought it was unnecessary to charge 20p for hot water in the washing up area and to have to pay 50p to charge a mobile phone. I can understand the charging 20p for the showers. I preferred the old shower block as the water was at a constant temperature.

Beautiful site in spectacular location within (steep) 20 minutes walk of National Trust coastline & SW coastal path.

Very welcoming host. Hairy approach to site - narrow roads!

Can’t comment on toilet facilities as were closed for renovation. Nearest shops/pubs 1. 5 miles.

Hope Cove busy but attractive. Wonderful sunsets.

Will definitely return.
