What a fabulous place. I camped in the expansive lovely garden of Sandysike house.

The lovely Margaret made me a dinner and offered me a drink. The view from garden is spectacular.

Facilities are nice. Two electric showers and two toilets in a dedicated campers area. No electric sockets for charging but the people in the bunkhouse kindly charged my phone from their plugs.

There is nothing nearby so this little oasis is lovely at an excellent price.

Would highly recommend this place.

Great location right on the Hadrians Wall Path.

Fantastic bunk house and amenities. 4 bunk beds with curtains to allow for privacy.

Host was friendly and even brought a beer in a pewter tankard.

We had the site to ourselves, so really quiet!

Hot showers, great toilet block and washing up sink

Beautiful setting, looking over the Pennines and one lone sheep!

Popular Choice in this Area

Fisherground Campsite - Eskdale

Nestling in the beautiful Eskdale Valley close to Scafell, England's highest mountain and Wastwater, this site is a children's paradise in the heart of the Lake District. The first thing that meets you on arrival is the pond, fed by a stream and usually full of children paddling and playing on tyre rafts. The playground has zip wires, climbing frames, tyre rope-swings and adventure courses.

Grass pitches (some with EHU) for tents, motorhomes, VW-sized campervans (no caravans). Refurbished toilets, showers and laundry. Peace is the watchword on the campsite - catering mainly for families and couples with silence after 10.30pm. Don't forget your marshmallows - campfires are allowed in selected areas. Nearby shop and pub. And there's an added extra: the site sits along the route of the Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway line, with it's own station. Choo Choo! Find out more here

Beautiful site with welcoming host. Lovely views of the Pennines and grazing sheep.

Clean shower facilities with hot water and plenty of space to move about.

There camping area is quite large, but I happened to be there on a night with no one else so really got to enjoy the peace and quiet.

The host is so friendly and welcoming!

If I am ever that way again, I will definitely stay there another night or two!

We stayed at Sandysike campsite while hiking Hadrian's Wall.

The site is beautifully located in the countryside,

With great facilities and run by a lovely couple who provided us with drinks and breakfast for a small contribution.

Charming campsite with a welcoming and friendly host.

Beautiful view over the hilly landscape,

Clean showers and very close to Hadrian's Way.

In other words: recommended!

What an amazing place to camp whilst walking Hadrian’s wall.

Situated on the path sandysikes is charming as are its hosts who make sure you have everything you require.

I think I made a friend for life with their smallest dog.

The facilities are exactly what you need, clean toilets and clean hot showers with drinking water and the view you have from where you pitch up is amazing!

All this for £7 I was fortunate to have a great night sky and an even better sunrise.

If in the area or walking the Hadrian’s path this is a place you must stay at whilst trekking.

Very friendly and amenable hosts. Great little site.

Facilities very clean and the hot shower was very welcome.

Nice little touch having a small shelter with a table and a few chairs for us backpackers to use.
