What a great site in a fantastic location, hard stand and grass pitches.
Site Manager Vicky is very friendly and helpful, always cheerful and chatty, and has a lot of local knowledge.
Site facilities are excellent, hot showers, immaculately clean, no coins, no push buttons.
The laundry/campers kitchen has two washing machines, one dryer, microwave with a tea/coffee facility two dish washing sinks!
There is a well stocked Spar with a pizza takeaway, an on site pub and a fish and chip van. There is also a Crofters Kitchen, a short walk from the site - towards the sandy beach.
Also, 24 hour (card only) fuel in the village.
All pitches have sea views, ours was on hard stand overlooking the bay.
The weather, when we were there was mixed, but the views and changing landscape was breath taking.
Although we did not see any dolphins, there are resident seals in the bay and the nearby islands have Puffins during their season.
This site is right next to the sea with a sandy beach a short walk away. The entrance area is perhaps a little scrappy with a few statics, the shop debris, coin washing machines, chip van etc and a thousand signs posted up but the views are lovely.
There are areas of grass and shrubs plus terraces. Some sections of the site are just continuous hard standing with a grit surface - fine if everyone parks their van in the correct position - but you do not have a patch of grass next to you. Staff are friendly and helpful.
The ablution block is a bit dated but kept clean. Unfortunately on two occasions during our stay we couldn't get hot water in the showers. There were also 3 out of the 6 WC's with 'out of order' signs on the door and one sink 'out of order' in the ladies. Never a problem as although the site was fairly busy we never had to wait to use anything.
The Spar is well stocked and has fair prices. The bar/pizza place is small but popular. There's also a fish & chip van here. Other local places to eat include Scourie Lodge near the jetty and Crofter's Kitchen near the beach which has outdoor tables (lunch & dinner most days). It's a bit pricey but very good seafood. Local 24 hr fuel is expensive and much cheaper in Kinlochbervie if you're heading that way.
It's on the NC500 so there's a lot of coming and going with many people doing one night only but it's a good base to explore the area. A walk over to Tarbet (for those used to hiking) will take you to the Handa ferry and a good seafood restaurant in 2-3 hours. Amazing scenery and lots to do.

As mentioned in previous reviews, the family run (well stocked) Spar/pub/pizza takeaway is on site as is the fish and chip van. There is also a Crofters Kitchen, a 5 minute walk from the site - a brilliant lunchtime food venue.
Also, 24 hour (card only) fuel in the village.
There are short walks, longer walks, last minute offsite dog walks. We stayed for 3 nights but could easily have stayed longer without moving the van. via mobile

This is a beautiful location, and an excellently run site. Vicky, who runs the site, is friendly and welcoming.
The tent site is terraced so that all pitches have a view over the bay.
Facilities are excellent and clean, hot water and showers included (no coin meters). Washing up room has three sinks which is adequate, and also washing machine and tumble dryer (obviously these you pay for).
There is a Spar shop on site, which also offers pizzas (with gluten free option), and a fish & chip van open Monday-Friday evenings.
This is the top site for touring the beautiful northwest corner of Scotland; there is no better site between Assynt and Cape Wrath.
Forget the NC500 (seriously, forget it), and spend your time here (and maybe one or two other sites further down the west coast) instead.
Things to visit: Handa Island, Assynt (and the circuit around Drumbeg-Lochinver), lots of sandy beaches (Aisir Mor, Polin, Shegra, Sandwood Bay, Clachtoll, Balnakeil/Faraid Head and the Durness beaches), Smoo Cave, and if you're into walking get yourself a walking guide book.
Great site. Great views especially if, like us, you book ahead and ask for a seafront pitch. (Although the hard standing covers quite an area, with no grassy relief). Excellent large, clean toilet and facilities block though one of us had to queue for a shower in the morning. Quite good wifi, and nice helpful staff.
Lovely walking available out to the headland just south of the site. Going north, there's a challenging walk to Tarbet, from where a passenger ferry leaves for the local bird-watching island. I would recommend driving there, though, if you're going.
There's a Spar on site which also doubles as a pub in the afternoon. The Spar sells just-warmed up croissants in the morning. Lovely! About 200 metresaway there's a village shop with further produce, and newspapers.
The site is very popular with people doing the 'NC500' ; most of them seem to only stay one night, more's the pity for them.
Stunning location and views from the campsite right beside the bay! Very friendly staff.
Ice site facilities. Shame the bar was being refurbed when we were there (in April 2023), it'll be great when that's open.
Good shop in the village. Really nice fish and chip van too some evenings.
Great walk up into the hills behind the village (lady in reception described how to get there) with amazing views inland of the mountains.
