Well located quiet site with beautiful countryside views. Easy walk into Combe Martin with pubs, shops etc.
Generous pitches - premium pitches with hard standing, grass and picnic bench.
Nice facilities block with individual integral shower, sink and toilet rooms. Dishwashing room with kettle and fridge. Couldn’t get hot water when dishwashing so used kettle. Not sure if there was heating in the shower block.
Herb patch at entrance to help yourself was a lovely touch.
Very steep dog walking field.
Would go back.

Excellent site with first class facilities and great views.
Within easy walking distance of Combe Martin.
Our pitch was on a slope, which suited us well, but you might want to bring chocks.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night break.
It’s such a beautiful campsite with well laid out pitches.
Toilets and showers all nice and clean.
Walked up to see the fishing lake and enjoyed watching the Carp swimming close to the surface.
2 Alpacas on site which we enjoyed watching. And I must mention the butterflies birds and bats it really is a little wildlife haven.
Easy walk into Combe Martin where you will find a couple of pubs and plenty of shops.
I hired a Kayak for 2 hours and explored the bay which was lovely.
We have been before and will return.

This was our third visit to this site, staff very helpful, site very clean, toilets/showers very clean,
And a ten minute walk to the beach, plus a walk around the site lake for fishing and there are big fish to catch,
The weather a bit hit and miss as it was around the country,
But we had a great time.

Lovely quiet site, the wash rooms and shower rooms are clean and incredibly roomy and to top it all off, they have a bathroom!
Staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Good beaches, dog beach, pubs, cafes, shops are all close by, makes for an easy stay if you don't want to travel but there is plenty to do in the area.
We stayed 3 nights and were very happy with our stay.
Quirky thing, they have a herb patch by the facilities and welcome you to use them.

We've just spent a week here and it's top class.
The grounds are immaculately kept, the lake is very well stocked with massive carp, and just yesterday, a 26lb carp was caught. 13-18lb about average.
Toilets and showers very well kept and the staff on site are so helpful. My gas regulator failed on the caravan, and the staff told me where I could get a replacement. Fixed within the hour. Premier grass pitches were quite level, with ehu, water, drainage and a low level lighting bollard on each one.
Very quiet family owned site, despite the number of pitches. We never heard a peep during the day or at night, (but of course, children were still in school).
Just a short walk into the town down the hill.
We'll definitely come back here again.

Pleasant site nestled in a steep valley within easy walking distance of Combe Martin for pubs and basic shops. Pitches are terraced; ours was flat and level and of ample size for a caravan + awning + car.
Facilities consist of individual cubicles with toilet and either sink, shower or bath. All kept very clean and tidy. Laundry facilities are also excellent.
The site is on the Coast Path and there are pleasant walks in both directions; Ilfracombe is a couple of hours away but there is a regular bus service if you don't feel like walking (or want an easy trip home after lunch!). The bus also goes to Barnstaple for a different day out.
Site wardens are very friendly and happy to help.
I would recommend this site as a base to explore North Devon.

This has been a difficult site to review. I never book sites at more than around £10 - £15 per night, but as it was all the family and they fancied staying here I bit the bullet and booked the £36 per night pitch, their most basic ones, although it still had electric and a tap on the pitch, but it was grass. You can pay up to £49 for their premier pitch if that is your thing.
They were very quick to respond to my initial enquiry using the form on this website, and they suggested I use the classic pitch, as 'this would be perfect for you'. They informed me of the prices and I went ahead and booked.
The site is easy to find and upon arrival we were met by a friendly chap in reception who showed us where our pitches were on the site map and gave us the codes for the barriers and we drove through and were met by a warden to show us around the pitches etc.
As soon as we saw the map our hearts sank as we were placed right on the entrance road, not ideal when you have a 5 and 1 year old with you, which they knew about when we enquired and booked. We chatted with the warden about moving and we had to go back to reception.
No problem and the did offer us other pitches, a large one and also the Premier ones, however they wanted the extra cash for it, even though they recommended the basic pitches. We went and had a walk around and found these were just not suitable either so decided to stay where we were allocated and had to deal with the traffic going past.
The pitches were barely flat and I could not level up the campervan at all, I also had to go in sideways because if I had driven or reversed in I would not have got out without a tow as they were like a bog. We found a flattish area on the second pitch for the tent, but this was still not ideal and we had to park the car with the wheels on the road as again it would not have got out due to the boggy and muddy pitch.
The more expensive pitches were flatter but if you are paying up to £49 per night I would expect grass and not a mud bath, every pitch was the same. I know it rained a lot this year, but that is no excuse to not sort out decent drainage, especially for the price.
The facilities block was in the middle of the site and was well presented with lots of toilets, showers, washing up sinks, a laundry area and a family bath. The bath was £3 for 15 minutes of hot water, we did not use it though as just used the showers. The showers are in rooms with a toilet and sink and a curtain separating the shower area. They are push button, non directional and the temperature was just about warm. However the biggest issue was a complete lack of pressure meaning anyone with hair spent ages trying to get the shampoo out.
The block was very well presented, clean and well maintained. As was the chemical disposal area. Plenty of bins and recycling on site too.
There is a play park on site and this is away from the pitches which is great as it means parents have to go with their children rather than just letting them off on their own.
There is a fishing lake on site, we did not use this and cannot comment but a fair few people were fishing.
There is a woodland walk and a dog field. The dog field was large but on an extreme slope, this was fine for us as we love walking, but some people would struggle to get far in there.
There were 4 alpacas in a field and these were fun to watch for the children.
The site is very regimented with concrete roads all around and very little grass. This is completely not what I normally go for, but it was quite handy especially as how bad the pitches were, if the place was all grass it would just not have coped at all.
There was no lighting at night making it very dark to navigate. It was very peaceful with everyone respecting the rules on noise.
Location wise this is great, you have the dog friendly Newberry Beach a 5 minute walk from the site. This is great for kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming and rock pooling at low tide. Combe Martin beach is just round the corner but is not dog friendly.
Combe Martin has a couple of pubs and basic shops, plus a hire shop for your water fun.
The area is great with Lynmouth, Woolacome, Ilfacrombe, Watermouth castle and so much more. There is a large Tesco in Ilfracombe.
If you like walking then this site is ideal, it is right on the S W Coast Path and offers stunning walks in all directions.
I would not stay again and will stick to the better value sites that offer facilities almost on a par with this site, and lots of grass for the dog and children to run and play.

We had a delightful 3 night stay at Newberry.
The campsite was brilliant- excellent facilities and great location.
Staff were friendly and welcoming and the toilet/ shower and wash up block was cleaned to a very high standard.
We had a standard pitch which was very nicely located just near the alpacas!
Pitches were large and so we had lots of space for our van and awning.
I would definitely return here.

Absolutely wonderful.
You will struggle to find a quieter more expansive site that is so close to the sea, shops with amazing wash facilities.
We really had the best holiday and feel we would struggle to find better.
We will be back
