 A truly delightful site, entrance is through three barriers - make sure you have the codes ready for the second and also if you are staying in the CL section.
Toilets and showers were lovely, note well the electric is metered - make sure you have pound coins. No objection as it encourages frugality.
The arrangement and cleanliness of the site is spotless, it is a working farm, the campsite has a 3 Km mowed walk part of which goes to the Red Lion - impossible to get lost, only a 15 min walk, excellent service for food and beer.
Jodrell Bank can be seen from the site, and is certainly worth a visit. Extensive views over the Cheshire plain, and views of the Peak District.
Moreton Old Hall and a few other National Trust sites are close too.
Must mention the Alpacas everyones friend.
A will definitely visit again.

The wife and I enjoyed this site and will return.
I was on a grass pitch 1 -4, there was a little confusion at first as it says grass pitches but no numbers.
Great walk for our dogs and I'm sure the owner prefers responsible dog owners, which we are.
Pub is within walking distance.
Toilets and showers are clean and warm.
There are numerous animals on site, not sure if you're allowed to feed them, I did have a race with the pigs though.
Nick was friendly and approachable.
For 3 nights I spent about £6 on electric.
Only thing I can down vote is, , , I don't have the grey waste pipes. I only have a wastemaster and there wasn't a separate grid to empty it.
I was told to tip it down the pipe as best I could.
Windy, the electric went off but only for 5 minutes, definitely going back, wife said so.

Stayed before several times as a stopover between central Scotland and South of England as very easy from the M6. This is my the first time on the actual CL part.
Fully serviced pitches with metered electric. Note the drain is a small round hole to the side of the pitch. Saw several vans that were spilling wastewater on the pitch as they hadn’t seen the drain. Pitch needed side to side levelling (a couple of inches on the lock and level). Good view from the CL.
Great dog walk mowed into the farm, and the Red Lion pub is well worth a visit either walk or short drive. Very good proper pub with warm friendly atmosphere and good pub food. Dog friendly in the bar.
Will stay again but be wary of the amount of levelling needed in some pitches. The grass pitches are perhaps the most level followed by the CL ones.
Since I was last there the menagerie has increased with pigs but the chickens seem to have been moved in and a pitch in their place, nice cows and lamas. New sauna and new pitching area by the cabins.
The place is well set up without the need for intervention by Nick the owner and I felt relaxed.

2nd visit approx. 8 years after 1st visit and the site has been transformed. There are now about 23 pitches most of which are hard standing as well as the separated CL section.
Sadly we couldn't see the Jodrell Bank telescope from our pitch but did have a view of the alpacas.
Good sized pitch with water tap and drain. EHU was set back across grass from the rear of our pitch so longer lead was required. We used £7. 50 on electric which wasn't too bad, we used gas to mitigate the cost of electric for the boiler and fridge and have a diesel heater. Levelling ramps definitely required as pitch sloped left to right.
Everything was done online so didn't meet the owners but it's obvious that plenty of investment has gone on since our last visit and the site is clean and tidy with plenty of facilities dotted around for convenience.
We ate at the Red Lion which was a very easy walk across fields from the site.
We would recommend.
Very dog friendly site. Especially liked seeing the two highland cows with their babies. Too cute!

This was our first visit to Welltrough Farm. This is an adult only site with a 5 van Caravan and Motorhome Club CL and a slightly larger site with about 20 pitches in the neighbouring area.
We stayed on the Caravan Club CL but had a look around the rest of the site while we were there. On the CL there are 4 lovely big pitches with plenty of space around them and with gorgeous views. However, the fifth pitch on the CL (which was the only one left when we arrived) is awful.
It is under an enormous oak tree so feels very dark and all through the night bits of the tree kept falling on the van and startling us. Additionally, a lot of birds roost in the tree so the caravan was absolutely covered in bird poo at the end of our 3 night stay.
This has put us off returning as I would definitely not want to be on that pitch again but as the site seems to be busy at weekends, you just have to take what is available when you arrive. However, we would probably have a completely different view of the site if we had been on one of the other 4 pitches.
In the CL Field is a single toilet which is clean and tidy and behind it, on the other part of the site are two toilets and two showers. Again, these are kept in good order and are a real bonus for a CL. There is a further toilet and shower at the bottom of the other part of the site.
All pitches have water, waste and EHU on the pitch and electricity is paid for separately via a coin meter that takes one pound coins. There is also a pound coin vending machine on site if you don’t have coins with you. We used £14 of electricity over the 3 nights we were there.
This is the first site we have stayed on with metered electric and I was surprised at how much we used. We were out most of the time during the day and everything apart from the fridge was turned off, but as the nights were chilly, we had the Alde heating on for a few hours and I think it uses more electric than other types of heating.
Everything about our booking was done online and we received an email with instructions for arrival about a week before we arrived. You don’t have to check in, you just follow the instructions in the email and choose a pitch in the relevant area.
The CL pitches are in a fenced off area with a gate that requires an access code so you can only get onto it if you have the code. This means that people booked on the other part of the site cannot accidentally pitch on the CL. We didn’t see the owners at all during the course of our visit which is fine with us as we usually keep to ourselves.
One thing that happened to us while we were there also spoiled our visit but is not the fault of the site. One of the other couples on the CL had a very large dog which they didn’t keep on a lead and as I walked past their pitch, it bounded out at me and jumped up. It wasn’t trying to hurt me but I am very allergic to dogs so this is completely unacceptable. As I tried to fend it off, I stumbled backwards and fell on the ground which was not good, as I am only just recovering from a serious knee injury. As we don”t have dogs ourselves, I don’t often pay attention to signage about dogs but it would be good if the site had some signs up reminding people to keep their dogs on a lead at all times.
The site is high up (hence the wonderful views) but this also means that it can be very windy which is important to note. Down in the town, there was only a light breeze this weekend but it was very windy on site.
I am not sure that I would return to this site unless I was confident that we could get a pitch other than pitch 5, but as you pick your pitch on arrival, you could never be certain.
The other part of the site was also very nice but many of the pitches appeared to be on quite a side-to-side slope so remember your levellers!
Please note that the overall 8 out of 10 that I am giving this site may have been very different if we hadn’t ended up on pitch 5.

Lovely location with a mowed walk round the outside of the farm land.
Good facilities. Adult only - which we prefer.
Short walk across the field path to a pub with great food.
Great for dogs.
We have been several times and will return.

Stopped on my way back North as about half way.
Stayed a night on my way south in a hardstanding but this time I was on a grass pitch. What a joy! Level each way and a nice view across the fields.
Lots of space and close to the facilities if needed. Much preferred the grass pitch to the non cl hardstanding. Plenty of space and no feeling of crowding.
Just near the fab dog walk through the fields.
Feel the £25 pitch fee plus metered electric is steep but everything has gone up since covid.

This is a lovely well kept site with great views across Cheshire.
From our pitch we had views towards Jodrell Bank and the massive moving telescope.
The pitches are a decent size and fully serviced.
The toilets (3) and showers (2) are decent with plenty of hot water but there were a couple of occasions we had to queue for the toilet.
There is a well maintained farm walk and a nice pub about 5 mins walk.
Will definitely return 😊

Stayed here as an overnight stop on my way south. The CL is excellent. However the private pitches surrounding the CL tend to be very sloping. At full jockey wheel extension I could not level my caravan. I have been here before on a different pitch and had the same issue.
View across fields to Joddell bank. Reverse polarity warning light on connection to ehu. Metered electricity @ 35p kWh.
Dog walk on fields and dog wash excellent.
Not enough showers and toilets availability for number of pitches.

Liked: the pitch sizes and the amazing view and the on pitch facilities.
Disliked: I requested a pitch when booking close to facilities due to my disability. When we arrived there was no one about to ask anything and ended up on a pitch furthest away from the showers and toilets due to the site being almost full.
It is not suitable for disabled persons, they would not be able to access the showers in a wheelchair. I struggled to use my wheeled walker on the gravel so I assume it would be the same for a mobility scooter or wheelchair.
I would suggest a plan of the site on the website that could be downloaded.
