A lovely site very convenient for the bus into Cambridge or Saffron Walden, but spoilt by a horrible smell from behind the trees on adjacent land. (The site is down a lane called Cabbage Moor and the smell was like cooked cabbage!). We spoke to the warden who told us other campers had complained & the C&CC had reported the problem to the environmental agency.

If it wasn’t for the smell, it would be an almost perfect site, spacious flat pitches, clean heated loos & showers, convenient for the buses and a local convenience store, both within 5mins walking distance.

Sorry to have to give this such a low overall rating. If it wasn’t for the smell, I would be awarding it 9/10

A busy site, facilities very good, but it is just a large grassy field. Bus stop into the city is a 10 minute walk and the city is very busy, especially with tourists.

Visit The Eagle Pub, if you haven't heard of it, you'll understand as soon as you go in. Great meals there and the choice of beer was great.

Visit Duxford which is only 15 mins away, well worth it and they put on a good show for you.

Visited again after a gap of five years and really enjoyed it.

On arrival and throughout our time there the site mangers were warm and friendly.

We were given a choice of pitches and chose one nearer to the facilities. The facilities, needless to say, were spotless and warm.

The site is level and has a mixture of grass pitches and hard standings. Some of the grass pitches were being closed during the time we were there.

The site Wifi was quite good whilst we were there even though there was a high occupancy. There was no issue with mobile or TV signal.

There are no recycling facilities on site and all rubbish goes into the same bins. There is a helpful opener to indicate which bin to use.

There are regular buses into Cambridge from the stop close to the site.

Granchester is not very far away and some on site walked to it.

Duxford Museum is about four miles away and easily fils a day.

All this for approximately £25 per night (it would have been less but our stay included two weekends).

 First time on this site.

A lovely welcome from warden and facilities spotless.

Dog walk through little wooded area on site was very handy.

Look forward to returning for a longer stay.

Lovely clean and friendly place, nicely spread out, wifi not so good.

Quite expensive if you are not a member. With our membership we paid £35 for one night.

Plenty good golf course within driving distance.

Will go back again.

Absolutely fantastic, great location, clean, and brilliant staff.

They couldn’t have done more to make sure the site was clean and everyone was happy.

We stayed for Cambridge folk festival which was a perfect location.

Large open field with hard standing and grass pitches. Plenty of space between.

Easy to catch a bus into Cambridge although this does take around 25 minutes to travel to 3 miles into the city.

The facilities were very clean. modern with powerful showers and excellent waste disposal, washing up et cetera.

The location of the site is excellent for trips into Cambridge by bus (Stagecoach Route 7) Last bus home is 22:50!. Alternatively take your bike and the cycle lanes into the city will have you there in a trice.

This is a very open site with little shelter, and the strong winds we experienced did make for a couple of night's disturbed sleep.

The staff team were extremely friendly and helpful, and did a marvellous job of keeping the facilities really clean, despite having to deal with blocked drains while we were there.

This is our third visit to the site, and we have found different things to do each time we've visited.

Museums and Architecture in the city centre, NT Trust properties close by, great walk along the river into Cambridge via Grantchester.

Fantastic selection of places to eat and drink in the city.

A very nice site with easy access from the M11 (less than 10 mins). Follow the directions given by the C&CC. The final turning Cabbage Moor is a bit hidden so slow down and look for the brown camping sign. Drive slowly down Cabbage Moor as there are a lot of speed bumps.

On arrival we were greeted by a friendly warden then another showed us to our pitch. They were putting everybody over the far side by the high hedge to give protection from the high winds that were due. This was very sensible because it did get very windy.

The site has one large facilities block and a couple of waste and water points. There is a mixture of hardstanding and grass pitches but there are no fully serviced pitches.

The site is very flat and open and in an urban environment but it was very quiet and despite it being close the M11 is only a background murmur at night and not a problem.

Access to Cambridge is easy using the Number 7 bus the stop being close to the site on the main road. It goes round the houses a bit to serve the hospitals and takes about 25 mins. In Cambridge your choice of pubs, bars, restaurants and cafés is endless.

If you walk out of the site and turn left towards Great Shelford there is a large Garden Centre with a decent café. We did not have time to walk down to Great Shelford perhaps next time but we were told there are a couple of good pubs in the village.

Overall a pleasant short stay and we would definitely return at some point perhaps in the warmer months next time.
