We really liked this campsite. It was quiet and secluded. The toilet and shower block was clean and a decent size, 3 showers and toilets each for men and women with underfloor heating.

A short walk across 2 fields to reach the Lune path which lead to a very nice pub, The Stork. We can recommend the food and ales and it is dog friendly.

Also a lovely garden centre nearby which does food.

I've wanted to stay here ever since the site opened as I lived on the Estate when I was a child and know the area really well.

I found it difficult to book as there was no facility for doing so online on their website. I finally found a number to ring, and had a curt reply from the man on the phone. Apparently you have to book and pay through Pitch-up.

He also asked me if I was aware that the site was adult only, which I was.

Pitch-up was confusing as they offered 2 different types of pitch, but didn't explain why they were different.

As promised, I was sent an email the morning we were leaving with our pitch number and the code for the barrier and toilet block. When we arrived, the barrier was broken and lying nearby, and the toilets were never locked whilst we were there. Not really an issue as the site is on a private estate road which lead only to 2 cottages with no access to the estuary, and there are lots of security cameras around.

Although quiet and peaceful, I found the site to be strangely desolate, as though it had originally been in a wood which had been cleared. Certainly there are lovely woodlands surrounding it.

The pitches are in 2 semicircles which are curved away, so from our pitch we could only see our half of the site and the sanitary block was out of sight in the middle. Unfortunately we couldn't see the estuary from our pitch, and maybe not from many of the others. The hardstanding is broken up waste hardcore, and the grass areas are mostly left natural.

The sanitary block has separate sex facilities plus an accessible room, which has the only private washbasin. It appeared to be heated, and was quite clean, but not spotless. Washing up outside under cover.

We wheeled our bikes over the field which is a bit rough underfoot, to the estuary path which is a good cycle path. Not far to Condor Green and the pubs, or Glasson Dock and more pubs and cafes. The other way is to Lancaster which is about 5 miles, but good for a day out and lots to see.

My negatives for this site.

Didn't see a Warden or a cleaner, so no customer service.

The email said access from 2pm, but you had to vacate your pitch by 10. 30am, a bit of a rush.

Paid the most I have ever paid for 1 night, £40. I have stayed on much better kept sites for half the price.

My husband and I have visited Ashton Hall twice this year. It’s quiet and secluded which is what we wanted.

A short drive to Lancaster and there’s private access to the Lune Estuary footpath.

The owner isn’t on site, but easily contactable and responsive. The shower block is clean and well maintained.

We’ll definitely visit again.

We highly recommend The Stork pub 10 minutes up the road.

Just a tip. When using the washer and dryer, 20p gives you 10 minutes, £1 also gives you 10 minutes.

Stayed at new year when the shower block was closed due to burst pipes.

Lovely quiet spot, could do with some TLC regarding grass cutting but lovely walks along the coastal path.

The Stork is good but if you want a really nice meal go to the Mill at Condor Green - just beyond the Stork.

Glasson Dock is quirky/ friendly/ interesting. The smokehouse is very good but expensive!

A very good area to visit!

Good location, quiet and peaceful. Good walks from site.

Male toilets under repair. Given no notice of this. Still charged us £40 for 1 night. Way too expensive. Why charge us the same price when facilities out of order.

Laverick Hall Caravan Site - Lancaster

This touring site offers spectacular views towards the Lake District and Morecambe Bay, with Blackpool Tower also in the distance, yet located just over 3 miles from Junctions 34 and 35 of the M6 motorway. Visitors will find just 10 electric pitches for motorhomes and touring caravans, with access to the superfast Wifi, toilets with sinks, a shower room and fresh water taps. Dogs are allowed and there is a designated field for walks.

The local village of Halton is a mile away from the site, offering a convenience store, newsagent, pharmacy, post office and fish and chip shop. The market town of Carnforth is 3 miles away, with its train station (featured in the 1945 film Brief Encounter) and supermarkets. The seaside resort of Morecambe is within 5 miles and the Lake District is only 35-minutes drive. Find out more here

We really enjoyed our stay here.

The access instructions were easy to follow, the sanitary facilities were modern and clean, although the shower was so hot couldn’t stand under it.

Access to the cycle path is a real bonus as is the garden centre with a cafe. I was hoping to visit Ashton Hall for coffee /cake but it seems it can only be used by the golfers which is a shame but will definitely visit again.

Barrier access, you are sent code for this and facilities block on arrival day, access road a little bumpy.

Pitches, hard standing is long and wide and hard to peg into, with grass for awning and taps for every pitch and grey water drain.

Roger the owner has made a path to the cycle way to Glasson dock, pub and a couple of cafes plus the excellent Port of Lancaster Smokehouse shop.

The Stork inn is approx 15 mins walk along the cycle way / path and does good food. The other way you can cycle / walk into Lancaster.

Ashton hall garden centre is 5 mins walk away and has a cafe. Site is very quiet and dark at night no lighting so bring a torch. Facilities are clean apart from the cobwebs and shower cubicles are a great size including a really good disabled one.

Would not recommend site for tents, Trailer tents as unless you can get pitched on grass the hard standing will probably not suit, but you would then be really close to your neighbour.

Would certainly go back to this site. Liked it a lot. Nice large level pitch, not exactly well manicured but very functional nonetheless. Fully serviced pitch but make sure you have plenty hose/pipe if you want to use grey waste point on pitch.

Other pitches may have a slightly different layout but because we wanted to face forward found that we were just slightly too far away for our hose to reach but not a criticism, just an observation. I could easily have driven in rather than reversed and would have been no problem.

Site did get busy but at no time was there any excess noise and never had to queue to use facilities which I must praise site management for opening during current climate and maintaining to a very high standard but be warned, showers do get very hot.

Great location too, you can access riverside path to either get to Lancaster or Glasson Dock and you can have a very nice walk/cycle to both as they are well worth a visit.

You can also flag down a bus to both as well from main road which will take about 5 mins to walk down to but wouldn't advise trying to walk on road as very busy an no verge. There is a nice garden centre very close by and food was of a good standard. Only one thing I would like to mention.

There are 2 fields, one with services and one without. People with tents who like hook-ups and I'm one of them as well would if setting up would pitch tents on grass and use hard standing for vehicle and in this scenario I did observe that if you were in a motorhome or caravan you could find someone pitching their tent extremely close to you, which from past experiences know that some people do not like so maybe a little bit of reconfiguration may be required.

Apart from that would return to this site no problem.

Excellent shower facilities but a bit too hot (be careful with children).

Quiet location, pitches a little scruffy but absolutely fine. Good space.

Easy access to Cumbrian Coastal way. Good cycling to Glasson Dock or Lancaster (5 miles). 9 hole golf course on site and next to Lancaster golf club as well.

Lovely garden centre on site.
