 Ann and Phil run a fabulous little campsite and they run it very well.
They couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming the service and facilities went beyond expectations, a long way beyond.
They foster an environment of inclusion creating a feeling of community amongst all guests.
I shared an evening with fellow travellers who became friends and I am usually quite a solitary person.
The evening was a memorable part of my solo Dales Way journey for all the best reasons.
Thank you.
I wish Ann an Phil continued success for the sake of their visitors and of course for themselves.

Wonderful setting, excellent facilities, and Anne couldn't have been more helpful.
Some noise from the main road was the only drawback.
Nice to be in a small quiet setup.

Anne is such an amazing hostess always smiling and happy to have a good old chin wag
With such a wonderful site just wish more was like this the pony shed
Over looking the river is such a nice place just to sit and unwind from your days travelling
The brew hut offers a nice place to sit and eat if the weather isn't nice but also a nice place to make a brew and look at some photos taken when Anne and her late husband and son Phil first started turning the farm into this amazingly wonderful campsite
I will with out a second thought will be going back to see Anne and Phil again for a cuppa.

The welcome and hospitality I received was fantastic.
The facilities were spotlessly clean.
This site and its proprietors are up there with the best, and value for money? I thought I was in the 1970s!

Fisherground Campsite - Eskdale
Nestling in the beautiful Eskdale Valley close to Scafell, England's highest mountain and Wastwater, this site is a children's paradise in the heart of the Lake District. The first thing that meets you on arrival is the pond, fed by a stream and usually full of children paddling and playing on tyre rafts. The playground has zip wires, climbing frames, tyre rope-swings and adventure courses.
Grass pitches (some with EHU) for tents, motorhomes, VW-sized campervans (no caravans). Refurbished toilets, showers and laundry. Peace is the watchword on the campsite - catering mainly for families and couples with silence after 10.30pm. Don't forget your marshmallows - campfires are allowed in selected areas. Nearby shop and pub. And there's an added extra: the site sits along the route of the Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway line, with it's own station. Choo Choo! Find out more here

What a gem! Anne and Phil were so welcoming! Anne even provided us with home made biscuits each day 😋.
The facilities were great - 2 bathrooms and wet room with plentiful hot water.
There was even a "Brew Room" - a small kitchen - available as indoor seating space with sink, utensils and microwave if the weather is poor.
We'll though out details (coat hangers to hang wet clobber, and washing line) really make this little site stand out. Great location right on Dales Way for walking too!

Fabulous camp site with the best hosts.
Lovely small flat grass site by a lovely spot on the River Lune and close to Howgills and Lake District. And an excellent Brew Hut.
Will be back.

We were given a very warm welcome from Ann and her son Philip
Weather wasn't all that good but we had the brew room to ourselves with tea and coffee. the toaster and microwave was very useful
Ann stopped by most days for a chat with her troupe of four cats following on behind
We also had coconut and oat treats on the table for our enjoyment and six freshly laid eggs to come home with

Wonderful welcome from Ann and her son. Fresh flapjacks on the table, cosy brew shed with microwave and usual refreshments and lovely warm shower.
All topped off with the ‘Pony shed’ a lovely place to chill next to the river.
Also the resident Thomas the cat and his feline friends were a delight to meet - children’s characters could inspired by these characterful cats !
Wonderful homely stop on our walk of the Yorkshire Dales Way - recommended !

Wonderful little campsite with extremely friendly owners.
The brew shed was very handy and we loved the little dining shelter that overlooked the river.
